There is some truth to this. He also had a great defense that really helped him out as well.
That said Mahomes is a better QB.

I agree he's a better QB, but I'm not prepared to label him as one of the greatest ever at this point.

I think a lot of people are missing the fact the the Patriots defense is really good. Probably the second best defense we played behind the Texans. Give credit where credit is due, if number 0 wasn't doing his best superman impersonation, Darnold might have been the games MVP.

It's funny how people want to equate a SB performance not being up their normal standard as some kind of failure. As if they didn't do everything already to get the team to the damn SB.

That being said, comparing Sam with Patrick fricken Mahomes is just plain silly. Mahomes is an all-time great.

Let’s see how Sam looks in 6-7 years. But no one really compares to the way Patrick Mahomes plays and has always played. He is one of the greatest to ever do it.

Patriots defense is much better than the rams defense too. And the patriots offense was kinda inept, especially throughout the playoffs. This was a totally different game than the rams game and Sam played both exactly how he needed.

Patriots were so aggressive at trying to jump routes and the pressure was really consistent. Christian Gonzales probably was the mvp for the patriots.

I think it would be fun to see how the patriots could do against the rams

He played way better than average I think. I really think the pats have a sweet defense. Sam missed a few throws but the difficulty was off the charts. It just goes to show you that this team has not found the ceiling yet

To be fair, though, I noticed that up until the end when the game was pretty much in hand for the Hawks, the refs actually let them play for the most part.

I mean Jobe literally punched Diggs in his stupid face and got no call so yeah....

People gonna hate me for this but I thought Christian Gonzales was the best player in this game, period.

He quite literally single-handily might have saved the Patriots from another 43-8 or worst type of blow-out by the Seahawks because had the Seahawks scored another 2 TDs before garbage time, I think the Patriots would have been completely demoralized and would have just wanted the game to be over rather than keep fighting on.
