This isn’t an agree vs disagree conversation.

You certainly can do either but it’s not the reason we are here.

The conversation has ebb and flow, it’s been slightly sidetracked a few times for reasons evidently not so obvious to you but that’s ok.

If you’ve grown weary, I suggest you simply move along to a different conversation.

So I was scrolling headlines on yahoo and got to the story about Bryce Harper getting threatened “allegedly “ mob style by one of Manfreds Minnions, and I came across this headline:

Obviously the first thing that popped into my head was this thread.
So rumors are a huge part of fandom, but click bait is bull shyt…

I didn’t read the story either, the rumor story, I’m more interested in the banning idea

I was a copy editor adjacent to the sports department for years at the sf chronicle. “Benched for injury” was common vernacular, and I was astonished to discover that it had fallen out of favor being literally what’s going on in Santa Clara. Purdy is not coming back from being sat until they decide they will not sit him.

Perhaps “sit” was the correct verb to begin with.
