Tyler Lindenbaum would be a dream. We'd have to make him the highest-paid center in the league, so I seriously doubt we're in on him, but I think it'd be worth it if we did take that chance. Haven't had that position comfortably taken care of in a long time.
Were you not impressed with Sundell?

Yeah, IMO the value of keeping a good O-line together year to year outweighs the value of plugging in a FA just because you "want to." Our current O-line is pretty young, and pretty cost effective. Our tackles are signed for the near future and our interior guys are all still on rookie contracts. Going down the stretch they were pretty damn good.

Sundell got better as the season went on, IMO. And Linderbaum allegedly wants left tackle money. So I'd rather Seattle stick with the guy they know, who's still on a rookie deal, and is still showing upside.

And then stuff like this can happen as well:

Muck like Linderbaum, Dalman was the Center most Seattle fans were pounding the table for.

Was just about to mention the Dalman thing. Granted, it's not guaranteed he would have retired had we signed him, but I doubt he just woke up one day and said he was done either. He probably has had some idea for a while that he might go this route.

He was alright. I'm not going into free agency saying he needs to be replaced. Lindenbaum is much better though, and could take the offense to a whole other level.

Like I said, I'm not expecting to be seriously in on him, but it'd be a considerable upgrade if we did. Worth a conversation at least. Sundell might be able to play RG.

That's what's intriguing. Moving Sundell to RG and bringing in a beast at Center. Our O Line would be damn good.

Reading between the lines it doesn't sounds like we value this draft. Crosby is obviously being linked in a trade and we apparently tried to get him before but so is Greenard from Minnesota who is rumored to be available at a day 2 pick.

RB's we are supposedly interest in: Tyler Allgeier according to Corbin Smith

I don't think there is a chance in hell we get Linderbaum. With Dalman retiring his value is only going to get higher in the market plus Sundell is cheap, young and serviceable and may still improve more.

Some here want to debate me on this but reality is the team is up for sale and there is going to be serious restrictions on the purse strings. The team is now under the control of Lawyers and Accountants who have been hired to facilitate the sale. No big contracts will be put on books if they don’t have to
I disagree with this but who knows I could be wrong

I was but Linderbaum is a freak. Hawks can even move Sundell to RG with ease to replace Bradford. I would love for Olaivavega Ione to slide to 32 in the draft but doubtful. Best O line in the league if they add Linderbaum in free agency

After looking through quite a few of the free agent RBs it's clear that K9 is our best fit if the money lines up, but he'll likely be priced out of Seattle. I do like Travis Etienne as a projected 60% less expensive option or Rachaad White as an even less expensive option. Both backs are a little more well rounded with much better pass blocking and are better receivers making them true 3 down backs. They lack the explosiveness of K9 though, which is why they won't be paid as much. Still good options to add to the RB room.

Drake Thomas (2nd round tender / re-signed)
Chris Stoll
Brady Russell
Dareke Young

Bradley Chubb - Took a $10m pay cut last season according to OTC, maybe he takes less for a chance at a ring after having made ~$100m. Bonus is he's a Street FA that wouldn't count against Comp picks.
IOL SFA or post Monday after the draft to compete. Get full comp picks lol.

As for the draft, try and trade down from 32 and use those to move up from our 2nd / 3rd. Take a CB and DE with 2 of those.

That's what I like to call... a definite maybe. Actually, there's no indications of your belief that I have heard/seen.

As far as what is being portrayed by the team and by John in recent Combine interviews, Jody is still in charge of the team's day-to-day operations and decisions.

Werent there rumors we were doing that last off-season? I hope warden is wrong, but it's a valid concern, and I won't be surprised at all if he's right.

I'm not saying it's not possible... just no indications. John's answers when recently asked give no indication that the rumors are true.

They will not put big numbers on the books before the sale.

They will only do what is necessary to keep the team functional. Bare minimum. May have one or two mid range signings at best
Big contracts are business as usual for the NFL. A little thing like a team for sale isn’t stopping that.

Exactly. Like Schneider said in a recent interview “it’s about maximizing the 70”. The Hawks will utilize every penny allowable under the cap to keep this regime Super Bowl competitive. This is the year to maintain that edge. I expect Maxx Crosby is on their periphery in possible trade package.
