The problem with talking about this topic as an abstract topic is that it isn't going to be an abstract decision come draft day. The question will be what specific players they like the most in the draft and that could be a number of guys at various positions.
Signing Geno doesn't really change that answer and shouldn't. It would be a mistake to pass on a guy they really like as a potential franchise QB because they signed Geno to a reasonable contract earlier. It would also be a mistake to pick a QB they didn't believe that much in because Geno had signed elsewhere.
Of course, that also applies to the non-QB positions. We can all agree that drafting rookie JJ Watt would be a huge boon for this team, but unfortunately JJ Watt isn't looping around from retirement back into the draft next year. Instead, we have a bunch of different prospects with their own strengths and weaknesses and uncertain outcomes. Taking the prospect you like the most is more important than taking the position you like the most.
