FieldGulls had an article on this, and I didn't realize that in recent years the Hawks had a habit of waiting until the eve of camp to sign the rookies, after the Malcolm McDowell fiasco. Pete and John said that the McDowell situation had caused them to change some things about how they approached the draft, after the wasted money and wasted draft capital. (IMO looking at prospects' psych tests and avoiding drafting of prospects high in sociopathy, like McDowell and IMO Jalen Carter)
Anyone recall if McDowell showed up for OTAs the year he was drafted, or did he injure himself before that? I sorta recall that R1#5 Spoon was one of the last signings last year, to a nice FAT little rookie contract. Murphy II seems like a pretty solid dude on and off the field, as well as the Day 2 guys. So, signing the whole draft class early, including Murphy II's guaranteed contract, does that mean JS+MM are confident enough in the players drafted with the "NEW" approach, at least Day 1 and Day 2 draftees, to go ahead and sign them?

Bucking trend of recent seasons, Seahawks have entire draft under contract early
With the contract aspect no longer an issue, it’s now just a matter of the members of the 2024 Seattle draft class learning their roles and then performing on the field.
