Oh god not another seahawks fan who stakes his life on what "other people and the media think of us." I hope you're not a hawks fan because this line of thinking is so pathetic. Are you truly afraid of what the media and other people think of you?

it keeps me up at night

Haha, a little more on the Rosenthal-Dameshek Twitter beef:

Robert Pryce ‏@pryce11 21m
@Dameshek @greggrosenthal like the 15-1 packers at home vs the Giants a few years back... No point in playing if the favs always won

gregg rosenthal ‏@greggrosenthal 18m
@pryce11 @Dameshek Or the Jets beating Pats after losing 45-3. Or the Ravens winning in Denver after blown out in Bal. Or AZ/PHI ...

Dave Dameshek ‏@Dameshek 13m
@greggrosenthal @pryce11 I'm aware of those examples, but the CLink is unique. Players confirm the noise gives D a split-sec jump off snap.

Lol. It's funny how only the national media bobbleheads are calling the saints game an "emotional win". What's so emotional about it? It was just another day at the office. They just aren't used to seeing our guys at any time other than prime time an don't realize THAT is what they look like ALL THE TIME.

...except when somebody sucky comes to town. Our guys are big game hunters and kind of yawn at having to shoot bunnies.

And I don't think that will happen again this year either. LOB and RW are too serious to take the foot off of the throttle.

This team is on a mission.

For those who don't know, Harrison is the guy who does the power poll for the NFL.com website each week.

I believe he picked the Broncos over the Seahawks in the superbowl, so as far as the NFC goes, the Seahawks were his pick for the NFC Championship

Funny...I went digging around after my post and found this....

[urltargetblank]http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000274632/article/nfl-midseason-predictions-seahawks-rule-super-bowl-xlviii[/urltargetblank]

So basically he started the season saying we'd beat the Broncos, then flipped by midseason to say the Broncos would beat us, now is saying we'll beat the Broncos again. At least he's set to be "right" if the Broncos/Seahawks face off for the Lombardi

Can't really blame him based on the first half of the season for the Broncos offense, though. Plus, everyone expected Denver's defense to get quite a bit better with the return of Von Miller later in the year, but it improved only marginally and is still exceptionally mediocre.

I Don't blame him...I'm never one to think that everyone should agree with me when it comes to the Seahawks as I know that I am biased, I just thought it was mildly humorous that he says he is sticking with his pick in today's article, when in fact, just a little research shows that he isn't really sticking with it, but switching back to it. Yes it's semantics, but as I stated in my OP, I was bored and thought I'd stir the pot a little today

What does a 'let-down' even mean??

If it means that we just beat a good team, so we should stop playing hard next week n lose, then this is the most childish reason ever given to make a prediction. Can it be that hard to come up with a few good reasons why one team might beat another in a football game?! Sheesh!!!

I won't argue his choice. The Niners are good. It's in their house. They're about as pumped as they'll ever be.

My only nitpick is the final score. He really thinks, with a beat up oline, facing a vastly improved front 7, that the team that has scored 13, 13 and 3 against us in the last three meetings, including once in their house I might add, is suddenly going to rack up over 20? They HAD their WR's the first two games and couldn't get that many points BEFORE we had Avril and Bennett. They might beat us, but if they do, it'll be to the tune of 13-10 or 9-6.

But he is seriously whoring for hits on his website so I'm not going to go there this time. He isn't worth the effort and doesn't deserve the attention.

You guys should be happy when the "experts" pick against the Hawks. If there's one thing this team thrives on, it's the chip on their shoulder no one respects us indignation.

Look at the games we've struggled in this year like the Rams and Bucs. Ho hum hard to get up for matchups isn't our specialty. It's when we're properly motivated like MNF is when we shine.

Your right in a way. It just rankles when your own beat reporter (admittedly one assigned by ESPN but still) seems so ignorant about your own team.

I don't get rankled by the talking heads. Never have.

You've heard the old saying, opinions are like "a$$holes, everyone's got one." Elliot Harrison's opinion doesn't matter any more than any one else's, which means it doesn't matter at all.

I might be of the minority, but I LOVE when people pick against the Hawks. Makes it more fun to rub it in their faces after the fact.

I like it because it makes Earl Thomas mad. I hope "people like Jaws" always pick against us. Gives Earl more fuel for the fire!

Honestly, I can't say I totally disagree with the thoughts behind the pick. I had similar thoughts, before I tossed them aside. If it were the Patriots or the Broncos coming up, maybe there could be a little bit of a let down, but this is the Niners and there is a good combination of respect for their talent and bad blood to insure that our guys will be up for this game perhaps even more than the Saints game.

Yea, I'm not really seeing us have a letdown with the 49ers. That's the one beef I had with his pick; he called it an emotional win on Monday night. I beg to differ. You look at these Seahawks: none of them were super high after that game. They really didn't build up going into it. Asked about the ramifications of the #1 seed before that Saints game, and all of them said simply "it's just another game, go 1-0 every week." I honestly don't think they really got up for that game...they expected to win.

As fans and analysts, we project our own excitement into each game, and the Monday night game was super hyped by everybody. Hell, I was watching it and my heart rate was really up all through the 1st half. But that doesn't mean that the players get that up for it, and that they had hyped it up all that much.

I honestly think the team will be up more for this game. It's a division rival, the teams don't like eachother, and this really is the clincher. We beat the Whiners and it's the division for us and probably the 1st seed. Factor the dislike in, and we're there. If you dislike a team, what better way to punk them than by possibly knocking them out of the playoffs ?

I think the Seahawks fan bitching is both justified and hilarious, personally. Let's not discourage it. My favorite quote from the comments, directed at Harrison:

"You said the Saints were going to win because they had a superior punter. You Sir are an idiot."
