We see him taking plays off on game day and losing focus, we forget about practice, guys that do that in a game usually are worse in practice about effort and going half speed or not listening.

Mac said he knew who the penalty was on already in the game, thats indicative of things that happen other places.

He is gone so whatever. But it annoys me to no end that people want to pretend he had no role in getting us to that SB. When he had a CRITICAL role.
He also almost had a "CRITICAL role" in preventing us from even making the SuperBowl.

He's damn lucky that Sammy D was balling in that game.

Woolen got a one year prove it deal. It shows VERY CLEARLY THEY DID NOT WANT HIM BACK. It shows very clearly that they don't consider him an above average CB when factoring in his numerous mental lapses on the field.
If they did they could have easily signed him. They are well below the cap.

D.K. and Walker did not get one year prove it deals. D.K. was first signed for a huge deal then traded and signed for another huge deal.
Ken Walker got a big three year deal that is top tier. No comparison between them.
Not wanting him back doesn't mean they don't view him as an above-average CB. It means they weighed things and made a decision. It doesn't mean their decision was correct, but they reached a conclusion.
In all likelihood the organization was done with him when he got that ridiculous penalty and then giving up the TD. Many people don't understand the importance of "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Responsible people actually blame themselves for getting fooled twice. If Schneider and McDonald signed off on a 1 year deal for Woolen they would blame themselves if they got fooled again (and rightfully so).

Best of luck on this. It’s an impressive commitment to the original opinion. Evidence is welcome, provided it agrees with the conclusion.

I remember a similar sentiment about Browner, who we stupidly cut.
I distinctly remember saying that I didn't care if he had heroin needles sticking out of his arm....if the NFL lets him play, then he needs to play.

Nope. We cut him. Lots of people saying we didn't need him then too. We were better off without him, etc. How his getting caught for weed showed 'he put himself above the team'. How he wasn't very smart. How his play caused penalties and almost cost us X game. Etc.

It ended up costing us a SB. And funny enough, NE had no problem picking him up after. You know the rest, he was the one who was key in making sure that INT happened. Also, with half our DBs injured, we likely wouldn't have lost if we had kept him.

I tend to cling to DBs anyway. But I won't be shocked if this is not a Browner scenario all over again. Where we get rid of an important DB, key to our run. Then the loss screws us.

How much should we have paid to keep him?

Woolen was a star in the making in his first season.
Woolen was average with holes in his second season.
Woolen regressed from the second season onwards.
Woolen was still the starting CB for Super-Bowl winning team last season, although he almost cost the team in playoff games.

At least we know we won’t lose a SB to Philadelphia, right?

Did you ever watch Darrell Green Play, hell even Earl and many others, Riq was always catching up, most DB's go stride for stride, some guys like Green embarrass you being so fast by baiting the QB and closing.
Cathing up doesn't matter if you cant play the ball after burned... or getting so upset you brain fart the very next play... Again all i was saying is speed isnt everything if you cant utilize it.

Woolen is not those guys

He might be really good in Philly. That doesn't mean he'd be the same in Seattle. Sometimes it's better for the player and the team to move on. Riq can have another year 1 in Philly. He can't in Seattle. He needs a new start and maybe he can take advantage of it in Philly. In Seattle, he lost the coach's confidence. He'd always be questioned and MMac would have a hard time giving him the benefit of the doubt on any blown play. He had to go and Seattle had to push him out.

On 710, they said the Hawks were trying to get a deal done with Cobe before he hit the market.
They'll get called cheap for it, but we have NO idea what was offered. Mafe, Cobe and K9 all got overpaid, and I'm glad we didn't pay that kind of money. And I like all 3 players. Mafe is by far the most meh of all of them. Dude has to be laughing all the way to the bank. More power to the guy for getting that bag, but he's not close to worth that contract.
As far as Reek goes, it's interesting how when he changed his name, his play dropped.
Reek is going to get a pretty harsh wake-up call if he doesn't keep his shit together there.

IIRC - Philly fans once booed Santa Claus.

Imagine what they will unleash in Reek.
