I am pretty sure we can get a quality DT by simply trading Tjack. There are many teams around the league that need a quality starting quarterback. It is the most important position after all. Throwdown informed me he is better than at least half the starters around the league. So really we should have our pick of the great starting DTs, with a free agent signing I mean the rich get richer! CHAMPIONSHIP.

It's actually a tough call. McDaniel has no upside and what he provides right now is just as a rotational player. Williams upside, if he can strengthen his lower body and learn to play football at a better angle, is roughly Red Bryantish. Red has the longer, smaller legs as well and also had to learn to keep his pads down too before he actually got some NFL use out of that frame.

Inside is relative. He's not a nose or 1 tech for sure, but the 3 tech is outside shoulder of the gaurd, who can't get help from the tackle (most often) because the tackle has to deal with the Leo. Most of the time it's not much different than the 5 tech where people are under the impression that it's the only possible place Red can play because of a comment nearly 3 years ago. Red said himself he's going to be playing more 4 tech like he wants, which means he'll be head up over the tackle. That's a new DC wrinkle that further illustrates that we'll continue to progress into a true hybrid D that can play a traditional 3-4 2 gap when we want to. Reason I say that is because you'd technically need two 4 techs with that alignment. We'll probably have all sorts of 4-3 Under, Over, 3-4 and likely some odd, unbalanced lines.

It's a good direction we're headed in either way, IMO.

Yeah I see IR in Williams future. I am very concerned by our lack of DT depth right now.
