Wasn't Doug Farrar one of us at one time? Call me crazy but didn't he post with us on .net around 2000-2002? I remember early versions of .net and I'm having flash backs with him King Steve or was that Steve the King and some grumpy dude who kept getting banned. Move this if you must, but it feels relevant to me. Adios!

He was one of us, that's enough, there has been a few iterations of hosts that we have been on. Our members follow across the web.

Lotta members were a little put off by him writing stuff about other teams or pointing out our weaknesses after he left at the time but yeah a long time ago
Definitely an aros question

Yes, Aros knows more of course but he had a report he used to write here.
Wasn't it called the Doug Report? Thank you all, don't know why I started thinking about this. I guess because I have spent more time on this site than any other in my life. Hooray for us!!!200

Doug was Seahawks.NET Editor-in-Chief for a few years back in the day. Before we signed up with Scout and for the time we were with Scout before going independent again. Early 00’s.

Doug was (is) a talented writer, smart as a whip but got a bad wrap in the forum because he didn’t tolerate crap from anyone. His bedside manner was put to the test by some in the early years and he didn’t hesitate to show his punitive side if warranted as he had full mod privileges in the forum back then.

We spent many hours driving to and from Cheney back when the team was holding their Training Camps there. Hanging out with another talent Rob Rang, who to this day I still think is one of the greatest draft minds I know of. Doug and I would talk for hours about the Seahawks and our mutual love of 80s metal bands.

I was never surprised when Doug was discovered nationally. His football IQ is unreal and makes mine look like a fetus by comparison. We had a bit of a falling out after I sold the site but we since have made amends. I haven’t talked to him in years but I always wish him well and remember the memories with fondness as he was an integral part of the Golden Years of .NET.

Loved Doug, great writer, and legit Seahawks fan.
I thought it was so cool every time I'd see an article by him on yahoo, or some other site.

I was a mod early on, but got in a pissing match with Rotak and Tod fired us both. 😊 We earned it.

Pehawk was the one who always let his "mouth" get him in trouble, and was awarded multiple perma-bans over the years. He just couldn't help himself, and it got really old.

I would say "Oh c'mon! Reinstate him! And a week later I was " I didn't say that! My account was hacked! Perma-bans him!!"

And it’s Todd with two d’s.

You’re so fired again.

Awww. History. ❤️

If the forum is supporting flourishing sports journalist that's a good thing right? Though there seems to be a ton of "Original Content Writers". Beats having a job. Apparently, you don't have to shave. As far as talent; I'm not sure that's a requirement

On this, wasn't Rob Rang part of the community as well?

Rob was on dot net for a while. I don't remember him being prolific, but he did contribute. Mostly he was working on his player evaluations and draft boards. I think he was one of the first of the "internet draft gurus" to come around.

He was pretty good and I think he has guested on some of the TV sports talk shows, especially around draft time.

Perhaps his most memorable contribution was to promote Lofa Tatupu to us. There was a lot of doubt about him, mostly because of his size, but Rob said pointedly, "you guys are gonna love him" or something along that line. Lofa was another of those great MLBs we've had along the way.

I remember those days well. I never got banned by him, but I do remember being irritated by some of his crap. I always felt like he just wanted his place here for a stepping stone to greater things instead of really being a Seahawks fan.

I can assure you he bled as blue and green as any diehard I've met. He had aspirations, sure, and why shouldn't he? His loyalty was never in doubt with me. I took a sense of pride in his ascension to bigger things. Still do.

Rotak was a good poster.
Yes he was. Smart kid, and I really liked it when he took up draft evaluations

My favorite was Kearly, intelligent, entertaining story teller, and not afraid to give someone else flowers when they made a good point. Hell, he even had great things to say about one of my posts, I remember it clearly.

I said that Kam Chancellor and some of the other players like KJ Wright probably wouldn't have had success like they did here because Pete pushed them to be the best versions of themselves, and cultivated their most impressive attributes. I didn't comment on it, but I was proud of that one (as everyone can probably tell).
