The guy is my favorite Seahawk of all time (Largent second). His career stats so far are:

ATT: 1,712 Yards: 7,221 AVG: 4.2 TD: 57

3 Pro Bowl, 1 All Pro

If the guy can crank out another 3000 yards, 25 TDs, tack on two more pro bowls, another all pro or two and a super bowl ring I think he's in. If we gradually reduce some of his carries, I think we could get another productive season or two out of the guy and he goes into canton as a Hawk. What say you?

AP is a shoe in for HoF.
Marshawn is the 2nd best running back right now but im not sure if he is HoF material just yet. A superbowl will help out alot.

His career numbers look like they're going to be similar to Ricky Watters, who is not in the HoF.

I hope so. SB ring will be a huge step in that direction.
Staying out out trouble is a must. IMO

You think ML is starting to mature a lil? He's become even more active this year in helping out the 'hood back in Oakland after the "get hammered, get nailed" driving incident last year. Passing out butterballs like Nino Brown! IDK, maybe he actually learned something from it.

If the 'hawks win a SB or better yet multiple superbowls with Lynch as the primary runner, then he has a chance. Otherwise, esp given the punishment that Lynch takes with his running style, he's going to burn out by the time he's thirty and won't have good enough career numbers to make the HoF.

We discussed this in another string earlier and I troted out Ricky Watters who had a steller career, 5 pro bowls as I remember, 3 all pros, over 10,000 yds and still not in the hall..

Someone said he kind of rubbed people the wrong way with his mouth which was working against him.

Marshawn has one thing going for him right now and that's one of the top of not the top run in NFL history and he is very well liked by the media and officials. So perhaps if he can last to get at least 10,000 yds and as was said above a couple of SuperB owls he probably can make it.

I'm hoping he lasts that long. His style of running is not usually long lived, but I'm hoping Pete is limiting his carrys, doing more receiving, which makes him more valuable, and perhaps he will make it.

Let's hope he can make it that long. Part of me says if that Ham and Egger TBI victim Frank Gore can still run the way he pushin 30, maybe Marshawn can if we start to reduce his carries some.

Marshawn has been so good as a Seahawk it is ridiculous. He transformed the offensive identity of this team. If he gets to a Super Bowl, he is going to be unstoppable.
Marshawn Lynch in a Super Bowl? Beast Mode will take over. He will be HOF material after that. Could you imagine a team like the Broncos or Pats having to stop him in a winner takes all game?

A Super Bowl championship would be a great way to accelerate his trip to Canton.

marshawn's running style is totally original. that ought to count for something in the hof nominations and voting. but let's win a super bowl first.

My concern with Beast is that his running style is predicated on a shorter NFL lifespan than maybe some others who didn't take quite the physical abuse and toll that his running style mandates. If Lynch doesn't make it into the HoF it's going to be more because of a shorter career due to his physicality than for any lack of talent and stats.

Didn't Ricky win a Sb?

Yes, with SF in 94. 10,643 rushing yards, 4.1 average. 4248 receiving yards, 9.1 average. 78 touchdowns. He has not made the HOF.

Unless Marshawn can stick around another 3 years with production staying the same as now, I don't think he will pass these stats.
