Exactly why I view opinions like yours... dumb

As frankly you know that wouldnt happen and it happened ONCE. In pre season.. but here you are.. with your negative nancy bullshit just like always
I will own that, but let’s just say many aren’t happy with whom Pete has picked as his latest and greatest in recent years.

Cross is the real deal. I don't think we have to worry about his skill set. I expect he'll get better with the false starts. I don't think I saw him get owned like a rookie yet. Lucas looks pretty solid but Lucas did get beat on a speed rush which I know he'll be getting some coaching on this week.

He was awesome again post-snap, again Robert Quinn no less. The holding call was bad.

Pre-snap penalties were rough though, but the preseason is the best time to work that out.

Of course nothing's carved in stone, but it would be pretty easy to argue this will be the worst NFL performance he ever gives.

If I were to start a new career, say... an adult film star... I bet I'd be pretty good on day 1. Heck, enthusiasm can make up for a lot. But, I'd still have a few tricks of the trade to learn. I think, after my second performance, I might realize some of the things I'd need to practice. I'm pretty sure, after just a short while, you know: when it really counts, my individual talent and athletic ability would shine through. Definitely, my holding and false starts would wane over time....

A lot of piling on of a poster just commenting on a rough preseason game of a rookie. What would you like to talk about instead?

RIP Charles Cross’s football career.

If you’re reading this Chuck ole pal by Aug 18th and the 2nd Pre-Season game of your rookie year, you have been weighed, measured, and found wanting.

I’ll miss your almost impeccable pass-blocking and your somewhat encouraging run-blocking that I know would have only gotten better through coaching, experience, strength and conditioning.

I believe those 4 false start penalties were from him finding out how good Quinn is after a couple of plays, and trying to anticipate the snap count.
But he'll be fine. It takes a while for the game to slow down for rookies.

Also, it was pretty cheesy for the Bears to put Quinn out there. He's a seasoned vet and doesn't need the snaps. This reeks of a head coach that is desperate to win Preseason games.
AND, we got SCREWED on the Preseason schedule this year! Travel all the way to the east coast to play Pittsburgh? Then flying back to Seattle and getting there on Sunday, leaving no time to recover and get in decent practices! Team had to have been tired, then Drew getting all of the 1st team snaps only to come down with COVID! Chicago got to play at home the weekend before, and only had a 3.5 hour flight to Seattle. Forcing Seattle to play a Thursday preseason game should have allowed them to play a game on the West coast. It's no wonder they played such a crap game.

Rant over.

Yeah, I’ve tried highlighting this a couple of times but instant gratification folk don’t care about the dilemmas just the results.

I’m to the point that some people don’t even see players more specifically rookies as human anymore just a vessel that needs to embody the weighted expectations of their standards of perfection.

However, the pre-season scheduling can be used as a coaching tool especially as a Seahawk where travel time is its own battle within itself and that these young guys have to learn how to prepare in such a way that they are mentally and physically ready for game day no matter the circumstances.

Unfortunately, there’s not much chance to iron out these wrinkles this year as the Seahawks lucked out not playing any east coast games and other than Germany the farthest they have to travel will be Detroit and New Orleans on back to back weeks.

Cross is young and there is definitely a learning curve in the jump from College to the NFL, but he is probably the new player I am least worried about right now. I definitely think he'll solidify us at that position for years to come, and I wouldn't be surprised if he were to get a pro bowl or two while he's at it. Although I will say it'll probably take better QB play than we'll get out of Geno or Drew for any of our offensive linemen to get much national notice.

May be we should thank the Bears for helping to train our Charles by playing Quinn? As a star, a seasoned veteran, Quinn indeed doesn't need the snaps, yet he was out there playing against a rookie. Other the false starts, Cross didn't allow sacks or pressure from Quinn!!
