Just for the nuts and bolts of a trade discussion: The Vikings would want significant compensation for the loss of their player. They've already paid him $30M of the $31.68M he's due this year, so they'd want significant compensation for that on top of the other compensation. Jefferson is guaranteed $25M+ next year and the $30M he's due for 2027 would guarantee before he starts the 2026 season.

It might cost a 1st in 2026 plus a conditional pick in 2027, (minimum 3rd but more likely a 1st or 2nd). The Seahawks have thrown $55M of cash/cap resources at Darnold and Kupp combined for 2025, so it's doable. If you keep both players for 2026 it's going to get really expensive and it will limit what else you can do. If you don't keep them then what are you really getting? Jefferson would look like an all-in move for this season.

I know...it's just idle chatter.

I'd rather they go get another DB, LB, or OL.

Not that any of those groups are struggling, but to bolster one of those areas with a top-tier stud would be awesome. I'm not entitely sure the depth there would hold up over an extended amount of time if they had to. Still early though.

A blow out victory with some backups getting some reps would be sweet, just sayin'.
