"DK Metcalf has a vast trade market and the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers pushed to the front of the line with bids to acquire the wide receiver from the Seattle Seahawks, NFL Network reported Friday."

It would be hilarious if he ends up in Carolina.

(sorry, unable to link the article I got this from)
I read it a couple of hours ago too. Mike Garafolo tweeted it out if you want the source.

…and making his big trade demand on the day the Seahawks released Tyler Lockett was a bush league move that pissed off Seahawks brass and his coaches and teammates. That’s a FACT.
Is it a fact that the trade request was yesterday? Just because that was when the news was leaked doesn't necessarily mean the request was made that day.

His anger issues were enough of an issue to not only be recognized by the national sports media, but exploited by opposing coaches as part of their game plan.
"Exploited" implies it was successful. Weird that the only coach to draw a penalty from it this year was the Bears' interim guy. Doesn't hurt us much to have opposing coaches put energy into plans that don't work.

By Schneider publicly stating that he's looking to get a 1st and a 3rd for DK, imo he's setting the stage that DK plays out the last year of his contract as a Seahawk.

Imo, DK's not worth a 1st and a 3rd... he just isn't.

We don't know and will never know how much pissing him off during a game got into his head which would have caused drops. route errors, etc.

All we know is he is an emotional guy. That is fine. I want emotional guys on my team. My post was not focused on that at all, but I mentioned because people are calling out fans for stating factual elements.

The main thing is, if you don't want to be here, then be gone. I don't want your ass here anyway.

In a vacuum, I agree. But you never know how much a team thinks they need a particular player and then the value quickly becomes subjective.

A late first and 3rd may be different

Or maybe we package our first and DK for the raiders 6 and we draft a kicker

If we don't know, why are you claiming he was exploited? Some players you don't want to piss off anyway. We don't know how often it backfired either.

I'm mixed on what will happen. I think the right move is to move on and call it a day. JSN will have to be paid soon. Having 2 high priced WR's doesn't seem to work it. This is a great opportunity to reallocate your resources to where you keep saying you want to, the trenches. I think if JS keeps DK it could be the end of him in Seattle if the O line especially doesn't get fixed.

I know it wasn't what JS wanted to happen but this could be the blessing he needed. Trading him could be an immediate step back but quickly turn into two steps forward. JS can't let this opportunity pass him by.

The result that game:

1741373631379

DK 2 for 5.

1741373693744

So yeah, he was "exploited"

Interesting, I don't recall Drew Lock playing for us this past season. I think you might be referencing a game from a different year.
Doesn't matter what year. Point remains that teams knew they could get under DK's skin and affect his performance on the field.

It absolutely does matter what year. Are you suggesting players are incapable of growth? We all know it was an issue. DK apparently recognized that and reigned it in this past season. He should be lauded for that, rather than repeatedly criticized for things from years ago that he addressed and showed tangible improvement.

C'mon, you seriously can't see that opposing teams caught on to the fact that you could get DK upset and under his skin? Yes, he did better this year, credit to him on that. But lets not deny what has been obvious to everyone.
Doesn't make him a team cancer or anything like that but I for one never liked him embracing the baby act.

There’s not a lot of players on our team that I wouldn’t trade for a 1st and 3rd.

Imo, JS knows that’s not what’s going to happen. Realistically, I think we wind up with a 2nd IF (big if) we move him.

Can’t hate a player for wanting more $$. Most do.

In before Brady took a cut (his wife was worth more than him at the time.).

You can't possibly be referencing the 10-7 Hawks on ths one...I am not a Geno fan for the future of this team but we are far from a lateral move depending on where he goes.
lol I might have been exaggerating a hair. The Browns are a horribly managed franchise. I mean right now they’re even bad compared to themselves a few years ago. Getting rid of Baker was one of the most idiotic things I’ve seen, until they traded for Watson, then that took the cake.
