It’s also worth noting that JSN had his best game against a very good defense when DK Metcalf was out.

Indeed
Not sure where the narrative was born that DK is some feared, game planned for receiver that "opened things up" for JSN
I'm also laughing at the Hugh Millen myth that he was misused here
Absolutely absurd

This is who he is:
Fast, physical, will make a ridiculous catch and then follow it up with three gimmes that he doesn't execute. He's fiery which is good and bad, depending on the circumstances. He frequently pouts and his route running is average at best.
That isn't going to suddenly change in San Diego or anywhere else
Misused? Cmon :ROFLMAO:

I love DK but, definitely agree about not paying $30M+.

Asking for a 1st and 3rd makes me think he’s going to be a Seahawk for a bit longer. Or, we’re ok with a 2nd and 4th…and we’re playing chess.

Playoff teams that are on the bubble will do some crazy stuff at times.

Like him or not, DK is an ‘attractive’ target. I’ve heard it said plenty of times that he’s underutilized in Seattles O. Just takes one higher up to think the same…

Definitely concerned for our WR corps. Love JSN…but he doesn’t have the season he had without a significant threat alongside him.

‘Ayooo Wtf’ indeed.
No way I am paying DK $30+ million a year if I am the Hawks...I think a 2nd and a 4th is decent compensation...the main benefit of a 1st round pick is that extra yr of control. If we can get 2 decent picks for him then we should make that pick yesterday,,just need a dance partner.

His childish antics and costly penalties annoy the hell out of me. Great talent and freak genetics but it’s what’s between the ears that will limit how far he can take himself in his career. He’s no JJ or Jamar Chase yet wants to be paid/treated like them. Shoulda maximized on his trade value last off season but here we are where he’s going to probably be dumped for scraps. Find the next guy in the draft and move on.

Here is the Hugh Millen "myth":

DK was often "open" but the ball seldom went his way, Millen claimed, to leverage the "open", QB needed to trust and throw the ball in anticipation.

This is my take on the Hugh Millen "myth". There are a few possibilities
  1. There is a lack of chemistry between Geno and DK, or
  2. The timing and anticipation stuff isn't Geno's forte, or
  3. Geno didn't have time with pass rusher in his face, or
  4. Plays called by OC, DK wasn't the primary when he was "open"
I think our play calling has been predictable. Safeties often figured out our primary target; DK was 'open' because the safety was moving away from him towards the primary. QBs often overlook 2nd or 3rd read targets, especially true with our OL. AND with our QB hearing footsteps.

OK, my uneducated speculation. Please feel free to rebut.

I haven't read through the 19 pages, but is this any surprise? My guess is he'll be traded pretty soon. Maybe a late first round pick and a later round pick swap, or something like that.

He had ONE personal foul in 2024. These takes are gold 🤣🤣🤣

This is all about the money. DK wants more than the Seahawks think he is worth

My opinion he is not worth what he wants. That doesn’t me I dislike DK.

Lots of realistic options, most realistic 1st rounders would be BUF31, KC30, WA29, BAL27, HOU25, LAC22, PIT21, DEN20

It's hard for a QB to trust his WR when he runs bad timing routes and can't make contested catches. It's especially frustrating considering his size and inability to box out DBs that are much smaller.

I wouldn't blame Geno at all for not having trust especially since there were multiple inte this season alone that happened 100% due to DK running absolutely horrible routes that allowed DBs to undercut. There's really no excuse for a veteran with his experience and physical attributes to allow that, and it's especially ridiculous if he pulls that crap and requests a trade thinking he's worth more

No doubt. It's not just what they give up, he's gonna' want a huge contract. No different than another other WR.
I'll be pulling for him wherever he goes. He's a good dude. Maybe fans will actually appreciate him at his new spot.
“Another other?” So you say he’s a good dude…have you met him? He’s extremely demanding and disruptive. He wants the ball on every play, and pouts when it doesn’t happen. His aggressiveness is appreciated but caused by frustration in not getting enough targets, and hasn’t changed for six years. Not only ownership and coaches are tired of him, it now also includes his teammates. That’s the real story…take off your rose colored glasses.
