I love me some DK and would like to see him in a hawks uni for years to come but he isn't worth 30 mil, end of story.
If I'm JS I'm not going to resign him based on A+ athleticism and C+ talent. Yes I said C+, that's the grade I give since he has a small strike zone especially considering the size of his frame, he can't high point the ball as well as smaller receivers, he has shown laziness and low football IQ with his uninspired route running.
When DK starts to lose his athleticism I think his game will suffer tons (like me3). A contract that pays him like he is elite will not age well.
I think JS can upgrade the team more with the cap savings and draft capital from a trade.
If I'm JS and I can't get a 2nd+ then I'm telling him to get over himself, suit up and shut up, making him play out his deal, telling him to play his ass off to earn 30+ mil elsewhere in FA next year and taking the 3rd round comp pic when he leaves.

I've come around to the view that the disruptive one year with Ryan Grub era is looking like a still unfolding disaster.

With the loss of Lockett and potentially DK, production from Jaxon Smith-Nigba should slip considerably. This year's offense is unlikely to place a repeat emphasis on force feeding JSN. Without two stars demanding coverage attention, this will be a very challenging campaign for JSN.
It’s also worth noting that JSN had his best game against a very good defense when DK Metcalf was out.

Nice.

I am really torn about this - I do like the guy!

There have been flashes with DK where he elevates and snatches the ball away from the defender in God like fashion. Sadly, these occurrences have been too few and too far in between. If he made 10 or 12 of these types of catches a season rather than 1 or 2 per season I would NEVER want him to leave. BUT - those occurrences are rare and I don't really understand why. his physical build seems made for those sorts of catches. If we can get a 1st or early 2nd and a young WR with some upside - I probably take it. 1st and 3rd and I'd do it right now.

If not I am good with keeping him - as DK on a regular day is still a top 15 guy and worth reasonable (ish) money.

Gotta think that the Bills, Chiefs and Chargers are all over this. All 3 teams are good teams that could use DK and the Chargers have a ton of cap space and he could stay on the West Coast in the warmer weather. Bills/Chiefs would have to do some work cap wise but would be in the mix to possibly push them over the top. Gonna be interesting for sure. I really think the Chargers are the front runner to team him up with Herbert and Ladd.

JSN will definitely get to showcase his skills without Lockett and DK this upcoming season.

We will see who will be the second WR to JSN number 1!

Very interesting times, indeed!

I love DK but, definitely agree about not paying $30M+.

Asking for a 1st and 3rd makes me think he’s going to be a Seahawk for a bit longer. Or, we’re ok with a 2nd and 4th…and we’re playing chess.

Playoff teams that are on the bubble will do some crazy stuff at times.

Like him or not, DK is an ‘attractive’ target. I’ve heard it said plenty of times that he’s underutilized in Seattles O. Just takes one higher up to think the same…

Definitely concerned for our WR corps. Love JSN…but he doesn’t have the season he had without a significant threat alongside him.

‘Ayooo Wtf’ indeed.
