In this NFL world of constantly shifting team rosters, to grow equity in cap space/draft picks/talent is the best way to become competitive in the long game. With the caveat that those running the organization know the proper value of each transaction, and build towards specific goals.
In the case of Walker, if the value is there now, I'd personally grab it. So long as it completes the equation, and they have specific plans for the position.
Yes, an organization can accept a trade, because what is being offered is above expectations. But, of course, a plan for the future of that players position should be in place as well. Or it might be one step forward and one step back.
