Yes but this is Pete Prisco's take.

In his grading of our picks!!! So he says Spoon is undersized and not the best CB and gives a b- But in his Mock draft he has Spoon going at #6 to the Lions. So what is it??? If he is the first CB in his mock to the Lions then why would he not be the best CB pick for us one position prior.

Then he has JSN going as the 12th pick and first WR of the board to Houston but then says when we land him at 20 that "He's not an elite athlete and doesn't have much power through contact in his routes or after the catch." And says another WR was ranked higher yet in his mock he doesn't have that "better" WR going before JSN.

So his Mock says our 2 picks were the best at their positions but his grades are that they were not the best at their positions. OMG
Pete prisco has hated on the seahwks for years. Take it with a grain of salt.

On the other hand Chad Reuter gave us an A+ for "two very good picks at positions of need."

I was OK with Witherspoon. Carter's red flags were such that Pete and John would need to be convinced he would work for the team and it looks like that is not the case. I would have preferred a trade down but I don't know what we could get, obviously noone was interested in Levis (spectacular fall from the media hype) several players I perceived as being simialar value.

JSN was great really surprised no WRs were taken before 20 (and 2 RBs!)

Yeah it's possible Houston was a better trade partner for the Cards, and the other top 4 teams picking were set on their QBs.

#1 Young
#2 Seattle moves up drafts Richardson.
#3 Houston moves up from #5 drafts Stroud.
#4 Houston moves up like they did in the draft and takes Anderson. Indy moves down after missing out on their QB.

If Seattle really wanted Richardson. They could've made it happen. They didn't.

Prisco doesn't like Pete. So any move the Seahawks do he doesn't like.

All the egg on his face when the L.O.B. took off and made him eat his words back in the day was absolutely hilarious.

And that’s why Prisco is a dumbass…

If these two ended up on, Dallas, NE, Chiefs, SF, literally anywhere but here, they’d be touted as the best of the best picks.

Yeah, I loved when the Seahawks traded with the Patriots during the 2019 draft to get back into the 2nd round and pick DK with pick number 64. The Patriots had already taken N'Keal Harry with pick number 32. The media experts all agreed that Belichick was a genius for taking Harry at the end of the first round, while Schneider and Carroll were idiots for taking DK Metcalf at the end of the second (and giving up picks 77 and 118 to do so).

Prickso had two pre-draft mocks from 2019 in which he had Metcalf going in the first round (to Indy at 26 and to the Packers at 30), but still gave the Seahawks a B- for picking him at the very end of the second round. A "bee minus"!
Prickso gave the Patriots an A+ for their draft in 2019, but said he thought Harry wasn't the speedy receiver he thought the Patriots needed. But because he's Prickso, he even ruined that caveat by saying "Even though I didn't love the Harry pick, he will be a producer." Hahahahahahaha

Four years later, N'Keal Harry has 64 receptions from 112 targets and a total of 714 receiving yards and five TDs.
DK Metcalf has 306 receptions from 499 targets, for a total of 4218 yards and 35 TDs, plus a Pro Bowl and a second-team All-Pro selection.

Possible but unlikely. I think Houston was set on Stroud. After seeing those QB selfies with Seattle, they weren't going to trade with Seattle and lose that chance to draft him. That they gave up the No. 12 and No. 33 overall picks, as well as a first- and third-rounder in the 2024 to draft Anderson indicates they were set on picking him too. Perhaps they would have traded with Seattle, but highly unlikely unless Seattle was willing to give the farm. Seattle instead stood pat, and hoped that Indy would draft Levis as many had mocked.

After fielding calls to trade down at 5, they didn't get the value they wanted, so they took the BPA on their board. Witherspoon wasn't their #1 choice. Otherwise, it wouldn't have taken so long to make the pick.
