At first he calls for Pete Carroll to be imprisoned, then he goes further and calls for his murder! All because he didn't win some money from the game.

This ***hole needs to be barred from ever having a media platform, no one should have to hear anything he has to say.

Just another idiot that has access to YouTube. I hate how the advent of social media has proven to me how dumb our species really is as a whole.
Yeah, no kidding. That's one of the biggest problems with social media.

But this does highlight a problem for the league. In their greed for more money, they have gleefully jumped in bed with the gambling industry, so now anything like this happens, the suspicions are automatically raised. And not just with the nutbags like Portnoy. Do you remember how many otherwise rational people were convinced that Super Bowl XL was fixed?

Here's what happened:

(Kenny) Pickett completed a 26-yard pass to Tyler Lockett that moved the Raiders to Denver's 33-yard line with eight seconds left.

What happened next? A Broncos defender was assessed a delay-of-game penalty as a Raiders player attempted to get up from the tackle but struggled because a Denver defender was tangled with him. The flag stopped the clock and took the ball to the Las Vegas 28-yard line, allowing the visitors one final play despite having no timeouts and no realistic chance to win.

So, with 8 seconds left and the clock running, the refs call a meaningless delay of game penalty, stopping the clock, then Pete Carroll, instead of just taking a knee to prevent someone from getting injured, fights, etc, especially as the visiting team, and just get his team into the locker room like most coaches do in that situation, decides to kick a field goal, which made the final score 24-17 and by an odd coincidence, just happens to cover the 8.5 point spread.

I have no doubt that the refs were just doing their jobs and called the play as they saw it, and that Pete probably wanted to get his kicker some live game experience. But you'll have to admit that it looks very sketchy, and provides the conspiracy theorists with legitimate, hard to explain evidence.

And it’s a majority stupid too. All about the ego. Get likes and followers and weird shit like that. Empty. And it shows.

I'd laugh if Pete Carroll showed up at his door with the Raiders Defense. "You talkin' to me?"

It's one thing if a fan gets upset because his team loses, but this is a guy losing his sh*t because he probably lost a bunch of money on a bet, smh.

Not a Portnoy fan, but if you're upset over a silly reaction video then something's wrong on your end

And what exactly is wrong on my end?

I'm not gonna grant him the "he didn't mean it" card. Portnoy is a P.O.S human being, and it's not just because of this video. He's shown himself to be a P.O.S in the past. The guy needs to take a break from the media, and from gambling, and seriously reevaluate himself, if this is how impulsive he's gonna be.

You might be right about him being a POS, I don't pay attention to him other than a handful of pizza reviews and I don't care enough about him to let his personality upset me. I'm just going off this video, which is a typical run of the mill over reaction video. He wasn't literally calling for the murder of Pete, I really don't see how you or anyone else can get so offended over this particular video, it's a joke.

I’m actually a victim of this beat for $20. I thought it was weird before that how Payton didn’t go for a field goal from the spot on the 28 yard line but instead went for it on 4th down to set up that last drive for the Raiders.

I’m done gambling on this season. I don’t mind patronizing my local casino here and there for the food and entertainment but this thing really soured me on it. Too bad, I might have continued to play.

I saw it as an overreaction, but not a joke. As far as I know, Portnoy's expertise lies in sports betting, and not in comedy, hence why I didn't take it as a joke. Maybe if someone like Pat MacAfee said it, I would think it's a joke. But even then, it would be very distasteful. Portnoy could've stopped at "Pete Carroll should be in prison", and nobody would be talking about it. Is he really a P.O.S, or is it just performative? A case could be made for both.

I don't think it that unusual. Going for a field goal could be construed as running up the score. They get the first down, and they run out the clock.

You're a good example of what I'm talking about as far as fans losing faith in the game, that it's no longer a fair contest.
