Cousins is available. Not gonna get you a ring but at least he’ll chuck the ball downfield past the line of scrimmage and is entertaining.

You should talk to actual Vikings fans and tell them this.

They will laugh in your face.

Kirk NOT throwing the ball past the sticks was one of their many complaints about him!!

He'd throw a 5-yard pass on a 4th and 8 in a big moment!!! 🤣

You and I seem to be two of the more level-headed people around here.

Sam could've been better but if the OC bothered to let Sam let it fly (intermediate to deep passes) instead of attaching training wheels to him all game long (throws behind the line of scrimmage), maybe the result would've been far different.

Also, it's interesting how the people here are on Darnold's case after watching Kenneth Walker with his "amazing" 10 carries for 20 yards.

Just 6 yards more than Sam Darnold who had 2 carries for 14. (He's the REAL Joke here)

I think there's a lot of blame to go around, and we can start with the conservative play calling, and the abysmal running game. Darnold did not have a great afternoon but neither did the rest of the crew on O.

Again....where in MY comment was I sounding condescending toward ANYONE?

Let's take a look at where this started :

First quote :

No condescension toward anyone. Just stating my opinion.

Next one (after YOU commented, and it was a valid observation, that if that's how Sam felt after 1 incompletion then he was a big reason why they sucked) :

Still no condescending remarks here toward you here. Maybe I was being a bit defensive but that's not me being condescending toward you or anyone.

You, on the other hand, then posted this and that's what rubbed me the wrong way as it sounded very smartass'y to me or whatever :

I just pictured you with your nose up in the air telling me this. meh.

There is no difference in the level of condescending with what you or I posted. If you reply to my post, I will reply back with my opinion unless you personally attack me like you just did.

Not going to blame Darnold but, I had my reservations about him prior to the game.

He’s a journeyman QB that had great success in Minnesota. That whole thing about being a system QB is real..and maybe Minnesota has that. The Vikings let Darnold walk for a rookie that had a major injury and played zero downs prior to this past week.

Yet…Darnold really wasn’t the problem in this last game. Kubiak has to get it together…

Receiving wise, they need to get Arroyo and Horton going. JSN can be the #1…and he’d be great at it. But, do we want him there or in the slot? He’s possibly the best slot receiver in the NFL. Playing outside…at least top 5 and maybe higher. JSN can do it all…but, he can’t be everywhere.

Kupp wasn’t getting the ball because Kupp wasn’t creating separation. I’m highly skeptical of him and if game one was any indication to where he’s at, you already know why the Rams let him walk. Hopefully, they were wrong and Kupp ends up being the same guy that used to torch the Hawks.

Walker…it’s time to start Charbs. I’d be looking for a team that has an injured RB and would make that trade (for a pick/picks) quick-like. Yes…I’ve given up hope based on the hype. He’s not a north/south type guy and he hasn’t lived up to expectations. With that said, I do expect him to break out for some big plays…and for folks to immediately call out people, like myself, when he does something. That’s not going to cut it. I’d rather have an every down, four yard type of guy. Whatever play Walker breaks, I
believe Charb or Holani could’ve done the same thing 🤷.

Defense - very exciting. Riq Woolen would be on the trading block if I was JS. Since Im
not, Jobe would his replacement. You can’t be a nonchalant type guy at CB. Sad because dude fits the prototype CB speed and length wise. He doesn’t have that dawg in him though..

Coaching - Kubiak should be on a very short lease. That shit was pathetic. The 4th and 1 sent a terrible message. At home, game 1, against our #1 rival. Have some faith in your offense coach…FFS.

This fanbase has been terrible when it comes to 4th and 1 scenarios and feedback. “NE knew Marshawn was getting the ball so…”. FOH

Still mad…more skeptical than I was before game 1.

If it weren’t for a few SF injuries and mishaps on special teams (blocked & missed FGs), they would’ve blew us out. That’s reality.

Close? No…this team in its current state won’t sniff a wildcard…that SUCKS to say because I absolutely believe we have the personnel to do well. We don’t need Darnold to look like Josh Allen out there. We don’t need K9 to average 20 yards a carry. We don’t need Riq to lead the league in INTs.

just want us to play ‘solid ball’. Don’t bring Milroe in for a 2 yard gain. FFS…let the rook develop…he’s going to be a star one day…sit his ass…develop him like GB did Love. Don’t have JSN throwing 35 yards across the field when he already had a solid gain.

This is a giant wall-o-rant…my bad.

We look forward to football all year and then get to watch an offensive shit-show in game 1…at home…vs the Niners.

I told you that your response sounded condescending.

If you didn't mean it to come off like that, then I apologize for my overreaction.

Okay, I'm with Ozzy. Game 1 is history and we've all had a thorough session of all important venting over it. It's time to move on.
I would not like to play on a team filled with players who would throw in the towel after one game. What we need to do is study the film and find ways to improve our performance. Then in the next game do it all better. It's a process that should be taken by coaches, players, AND FANS.
Lets get to work and plan a winning formula against the Stealers.

Speaking of Cooper Kupp, just like the Tory Horton thread, I wonder if there is one that has every one of Kupp's snaps to look at.

I want to see the amount of times he actually got separation and was open.

I imagine it was not often.

So if your wide receivers aren't getting separation on their own, then as the Offensive Coordinator your job is to, as the saying goes, "Scheme Them Open".

I really hope Kubiak throws away the remains of the Grubb playbook he had and uses the OG of what we saw in Preseason.

'Cause that's the only hope we have of this season meaning anything.

That would be great to see. Due to the angles when watching it on TV, I only saw a few instances when he wasn’t getting separation.

Made the assumption that it occurred most of the game…

Kupp does seem like the type of guy to fix whatever needs corrected. He has that ‘dawg’ in him. I just hope it’s not Father Time and/or his injuries that are still getting to him. He can knock the rust off but age and nagging injuries have an imposing record vs a players performance 😝

His foot placement was horrible on that as well. I don’t see an ounce of inside leverage (that whole kick-step motion..protect the inside, push out deal).

Granted…it’s Bosa. Bosa does what Bosa does…but, at least get beat while doing everything you can…to include fundamental linemen footwork.
