Can't expect a new manager to all of the sudden turn around a mediocre team, with a historically bad offense, that an inept GM made worse in the off-season.

Ya u can. Especially since certain ppl here and on X and Reddit all said it was Scott Servais costing them. You don't get to just move the goal posts because all of a sudden, you were wrong. You can but you will look absolutely silly.

It’s not Dan Wilson making these decisions. It’s still Dipoto. Dipoto has a long history of butting heads with managers about his analytic approach. Sure it can be useful at times but sometimes common sense should prevail. Ryan Divish recently talked about how Scott Servais and Dipoto disagreed with the approach and would get into shouting matches. Mike Scioscia hated him for it in Anaheim. Things will not change as long as he’s still here. Same as it ever was.

Spot on about Dipoto…I’ve heard he even sets the lineup card based on analytics before the games as well. Players dislike the guy as well…going so far as to say he “sits up there playing his analytics video games all day”.

This is probably why he pushed for Wilson, another guy that won’t challenge him or his decisions.

Off topic but I never thought they should have fired Bevell. Dude had creative play calling especially in the NFC title game comeback . Pete had the final say in what to do at the 1 yard line in the SB.

This is the only forum I go for Mariner talk, but from what I've read the consensus is that most the blame is on the Owners and Dipoto for royally screwing up the offense with some bad moves.

Even if SS is getting all the heat, that doesn't mean his critics are obligated to get behind Wilson. Maybe he's not a good manager either, both things can be true
