Seriously - with the corpse of Jerruh running the show - what decent coach even wants that job, knowing they will be saddled with meddlesome Jerry? They are tied to mediocre DAK's monster contract - and outside of Parsons and CD Lamb - who do they have? Treyvon Diggs? A few decent linemen?

That is a grim show down in the big D.

If Jerry goes young, he has Ben Johnson etc., If he goes with experience, both Belichick or Carroll are available. Not sure if Pete or Bill is willing to work for Jerry and his sons.

Well it appears that Bill will have a variety of jobs to look at.

Unless Jerry backs off - and that is so unlikely - I don't know who would take it.

I'd hate to see a young up and coming head coach like Johnson end up there and be ruined.

I hear rumors of Dan Lanning as a possibility - that sounds like a Jerry type of move. But I think Lanning might be smarter than that.

But if Jerruh opens up the checkbook those $ would be hard to turn down for any coach.

Knowing Dallas it will probably be Prime
I could see this happening, his kid holding out for the Cowboys to draft or trade for him (a la Eli), they'd continue to be a crap team getting too much airtime.

No legit young coach should take that job.

Jerruh will hire another yes man. That's all he ever hires since Jimmy Johnson left, with the exception of Parcells, who wanted out after making the playoffs with a young QB and a ton of talent. Just look at the list: Switzer, Gailey, Campo, Parcells, Phillips, Garrett, and McCarthy. Switzer was an old buddy of Jones, and outside Parcells, they're a bunch of chuds. Phillips was a good D coordinator, but a mediocre coach. I don't think McCarthy would have a Super Bowl ring without a young Aaron Rodgers, before his ego grew larger than any stadium.

As long as Jerry and Son are drafting who they want nobody will go there that is competent, They need a complete rebuild for the most part, Americas Team has turned into the American Horror Story, Jerry is one step away from being the Crypt Keeper also.

I've heard that Deion says he would do it, if they drafted his son.
Deion might be the one guy that would be willing to tell Jerry to FO and let him run the team. MAYBE. Anyone else is going to be hamstrung by his constant meddling.

Agreed on all this.

Deion is the furthest possible point from being a ‘yes man’ coach. It would be a disaster.

Which means …let’s not rule it out.

I'm betting Jerry is pissed that he lost Quinn to a division rival. DQ was his backup plan if McCarthy didn't get the job done, and we see the Dallas defense has regressed this year while the Commanders defense has been improving through the season. Poor Jerry. ;)

I could totally see Deion getting the job. Former Dallas player with a ring....he'd be the splashy pick which makes it totally in the Dallas wheelhouse.

When in the last 30 years under Jones has Dallas hired 'the splashy pick' as a coach? McCarthy? Garrett? Phillips? Gailey? Campo? Even Parcells wasn't splashy since he'd had 2 jobs since his peak with the Giants.

I don't see an established Head Coach going there. The coach will want to run things his way and Jerry can't mind his own business. The only way Jerry gets to still be in the middle of everything (especially the media) is if he gets a first timer. And if you're a first timer that would spell the end of you.

He needs a personality as big as his to be there, why Jimmy was successful, just Jerry owned the team and when it came to the rubber hitting the road Jimmy left. Jerry has tried to make everyone believe ever since the success was due to him and not Jimmy.

How's that working so far about 30 years later Jerry.

I can't believe this meddling old fart still holds a press conference after every game. Any self respecting coach should avoid that dysfunction.
