Noticed a disturbing trend in last year's games and it carried over into this past pre-season game - our home fans being loud on offense.

I realize there's a lot of hype and excitement about this team but quite honestly it's frustrating as hell to be at the game and watch our offense take the field and then hear all the fans try to get the 'sea! hawks!' chant going or just yelling in general. The team/stadium didn't help itself this way last year by installing the phish "wilson" prompt.

Please do us all a favor when you attend games and tell eveyrone to shut up on offense before we sound like niner fans who yell when their team is on offense and go sip mimosas when they are on D.

Thank you. this has been a Hawknballs© public service announcement.

Have you considered that it might be opposing fans that are doing the yelling?

I don't think opposing fans would be chanting "seahawks" while we were on offense, which is what was happening.

But I thought stadium noise wasn't an issue? Shoe meet other foot!

What are you even talking about or trying to say here, guy?

As for opposing fans making the noise, it's not. Unless you really think there were thousands of chargers fans at a pre-season game chanting 'SEAHAWKS!" when the offense was lining up?

A simple "SHUT UP!" when a group of nearby fans start chanting at inappropriate times should eventually do the trick.

I hope they cut the Phish chant out this year, and I think they will.

Great post , Fans just getting excited , as long as this does not happen during the regular season, in which I find Seahawks fans the most educate fans in football , so I am not worried see you all this Friday.

Unfortunately this began last season and was especially prevalent in the playoff games. And I hate being a naggy fan who has to tell people to shut up.

I don't recall seeing the 'Wilson" thing in the preseason opener so maybe they have gotten rid of it.

Yes I did too , but it did not bother the hawks they won, but I do know what you are saying, fans have to SHUT UP , Make it easy as possible for the Offense .

I don't know if it was mentioned during the town hall or the news just came out around that time, but the team has said that they will NOT be doing the "WIL-SON" chant anymore.

BTW, what's up with the Coinstar and Redbox ads on the Northwest and Northeast concourse walls? Bring back Tanzania! ;)

Personally I'm glad they won't be doing the Wil-son chant but that doesn't mean some fans won't start it up without the musical prompting.

It'd be nice if they stopped doing that stupid "Wilson" thing on offense.

I was at the game, and it was my first time being at one ever. I was particularly keen on paying attention to how things worked. Of all the things I noticed, crowd noise on offense wasn't a problem, I thought most of that was during TV commercials. I do know Phish c chant is over, there was a recent documentary on NFL network about it, and they said they're not doing it again.

We had a lot of fun and hoarse voices at the end, but we stayed quiet on offense!

It was annoying at times but not a big deal. "Be quiet, our offense is trying to operate. Shhhhhhhhhhh."

Really it was just the stupid Wilson chant, I still can't believe how poorly thought out it was. With that gone I think the problem will go away as well, we've been great at historically great at focusing the noise (barring last year).
