The Cowboys are on bye this coming week. Typically, the first week of a bye only coaches report and the players tend to go on "vacation" for the week. He wouldn't likely report until next Monday or Tuesday next week.

Thanks. I didn’t know it was their bye. The whole thing grows sadder yet.

It has to make you think, what could be so bad for such a young man? A permanent solution to a temporary problem. God bless the survivors of this tragedy. Have mercy on this guy's poor soul...

He shot himself in the head after running from police and crashing his car.

Toxicology takes time, as does the release of information. Pure speculation on my part, but either the toxicology report will show he was on something, or he had something illegal in his car (possibly the gun itself).

It's unfortunate that he felt the need to take his life, as it is unlikely he had done anything that would've ended his career. I am a supporter of the 2nd amendment, but people should not be carrying a gun on them if they are engaging in any illegal behavior and can't bear to face whatever punishment. If he didn't have his gun on him he would still be alive, and we would merely be hearing about his arrest.

I really feel for his parents, family and GF..
That said, I see it as "he took the cowards way out".
It was a selfish act that hurt the very people who cared
about him.
You have many who have nothing or very little and they
try every day just to survive.
I'm sorry, I don't have any empathy for anyone who wacks
themselves.

I don't think they care if you have any empathy for them or not. And I don't see it as taking the cowards way out. And people who commit suicide aren't thinking of it in terms of a selfish act. I don't think you have a good understanding of such things.

I see what both of you are saying.

The fact is that a lot of draft picks have a lot of family counting on them, and with college nil more so. Imagine the pressure. Imagine what players put on themselves.

Hard to sympathize with a suicide. He had 50 years or more to live life. Sad for his people.
