If he truly is done because of personal reasons, than good luck to him in retirement. But if he is leaving because of some nonsense in the locker room, than let him go. Were better off starting someone who is gonna give it there all and who is 100% all in. The Hawks don't have time to worry about that kind of stuff. We still have a chance and are not out of the playoff race yet. Next man up lets go!

Off season FA acquisitions:

Baker was traded
Dodson was released
Connor rather retired than play for us.
Big cat complaint about the lack of spirit in the locker
Fant keep on injuring himself.
Pharaoh was bad bad bad
WRs we signed have been non factor.
Hankins ain't good
That whatever his name safety ain't good.

The Schneider to Schneider show, Willi finds them and John signs them, sure has been entertaining.
'Rather retire than play for us.' You know shit all about his motivation.

Very disappointing. I'm sure there's more to the story, but I wish the coaches could have talked him into staying. Just as we get Lucas back, we now have a hole at center. We'll have growing pains with Olu for sure.
I hear ya, but it's not like CW was dominating. Olu took almost all of the snaps during pre-season and played better after each game. I'm not saying he is or is not the long term solution at C. But I think the drop from CW may not be as steep as some imagine...mostly b/c the CW expections and reality were a pretty drastic drop to begin with.

So he decides to retire on the Friday before a game coming off a bye week. There’s way more to this story than any of us know or may ever know.

It sounds like he communicated it to the team earlier this week, since he hasn't been practicing.

There's always the chance that his reasons are nothing to do with football or the Seahawks and...personal.

95% chance of something personal, at least I hope that's the case.

It's a demanding job and the fans of your team can be absolutely brutal. He's already made millions of dollars. I can think of a million reasons to walk away and won't try to assume one is the correct one.

I hope that this decision eases his mind and I hope that Olu can step up.

So because he’s retiring every botched snap was Williams fault? Alright.

Williams air mailed more than one snap that was costly, Geno also has 1-2 that were on him. It happens
I wonder if it were Russ back there if you'd still have this opinion hmm...

You’re trolling but I’ll bite. I’ve never had a problem calling out Russ when he screws up he’s not great over the middle of the field. Sometimes he hung onto the ball too long trying to rely on his big playability and I hated the way he left Seattle now you do the same with Geno.

Yeah, there were a few that were technically bad snaps that Geno probably could have caught had he been paying attention. But then maybe Connor was a bit off the count, too. Timing issues as well?
Solid point, hard to give Connor too much benefit of the doubt because he had a problem with this before Seattle too I think?

Guess we see if Geno has these same issues with a new center.

This is sadly unfortunate. He was one of the best in the league at his position, and then suffered a bad injury just before he was about to cash in in free agency. We get him for pennies on the dollar, he busts his ass to get back on the field, but he just couldn't get all the way to the standard he was used to. I thought he had been playing better before his rough outing against the Rams. Maybe whatever happened played into that. I'm guessing his body just isn't responding the way he had hoped. Maybe it's something personal, but the guaranteed money he's leaving on the table retiring at 27 makes me more inclined to believe it's something physical.

Fans were rough on him. He had like three high snaps in nine games and people were acting like Geno was playing entire games lining up 30 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Those who are celebrating this should be embarrassed.

If you thought it was bad before, wait for what's coming. We're down to a fifth-round pick from last season that the team seems to have very little confidence in and an undrafted rookie. Hoping for the best, but there's not a lot of reason to expect it.
