It would make no sense to lose to the Colts.

We will probably keep it closer than most of us would like.

But we should win this one.

Not winning this one would be troubling.

Yeah, could be one of those where they have a nice lead, let up a little and it looks closer than it should be. People freak out, late score to make it less than 10 points etc. Typical Hawks game

First game, no pre season reps, no continuity it at least appears based on pre season games on offense and defense in game situations that have to do with reads and assignments and timing. Yes the Colts have issues as well but this isn't a game I think we mark in the win column till it's done.

Same situation last year and we put up thirty-eight in game one.

Seems like every time we play a team that has a major issue they use that to motivate themselves to give all we can handle and more and we get out either by the skin of our teeth or lose.

We're screwed Chris...the starter is going to be Brett Hundley. We always crap the bed vs him. :192215:

Indianapolis Passing

C/ATT YDS TD INT SACKS
J. Eason 10/14 74 0 0 0-0
S. Ehlinger 3/3 63 0 0 1-3
B. Hundley 6/12 52 1 1 0-0

This is very funny, but you do realize that Carson Wentz is their starter, right? He’s pretty much practiced in full for a week already and there’s still two weeks before the game. It ain’t gonna be Eason starting for the Colts. I feel like the Colts’ O & D are both sleeping giants that haven’t played together, but are gonna come together just in time…. I hope they stay sleeping for one more game.

Wentz was on individual drills last week and was supposed to participate in full team portions today, until he and three other players including a lineman, were put on the reserve/Covid list. That puts him in quarantine for at least 5 days.

If he plays week one, it will be with very few practice reps with the rest of the starters. And on a brand new team?

The Hawks should be able cover the -2.5 point spread in this match up.

We all know it’s going to be a nail bitter. Prob win by 7 and score with 3-4 mins left in the 4th. To then watch the colts go down the field with ease to then blow it in 4th down in the red zone. Lol

 This. Maybe a botched field goal or extra point will hand the victory to us. But there will be no breathing before the final whistle is blown.

Me thinks based on this being a new poster and their posts talk about the probability of some Colts that are injured will be playing that they are actually a Colts fan. Sorry but it sure appears this way. It's ok to be a Colts fan but we would rather you be honest about it then try and hide it.

Yeah, I wish I had that much confidence in this game. Road openers are always tough, and I suspect that this Indy team is the most underrated team in the league. A great OL and RB group makes Wentz’s job much easier. That Buckner/Leanard duo is as good of a front seven duo as there is in the league. And I read that Kwity Paye was by far the pre-season’s highest rated rookie. I guess he’s just making OTs look silly (in a small sample size). Funny, I thought he was just a physical freak who couldn’t finish at Michigan - pressures, not sacks. But I digress - I think the Colts should be favored in this one like they were before Wentz and Nelson’s injuries.

Sorry, you’re right. I’m being too pessimistic. As long as we’ve got Russ and our WR weapons, we should win this…

Yeah, this, and if we're banking on the other team's injury list for us to do well we're already pre-screwed.

I'm expecting a slow start to the season would not be surprised by a 1-3 2-2 start in the first quarter of the season... doesn't mean this is a bad team just means its a slow start.. status quo...hopefully im wrong...but Im not going to freak out cause I know its how they are playing at the finish that counts... they just need to stay in it till they hit their stride...

Colts are solid with or without Wentz. It's weird to notice Mark Glowinski as their starting right guard. They have a really good defense with Buckner on the D line providing inside pressure and a decent corner still in Xavier Rhodes. Even if they rock with Eason week 1 I still like a Hawk win but only by 4 points.
Hawks 24-20

Pete does a great job at getting the team ready for early east coast games. Best coach we have ever had at that.

Glowinski has been quite ok since he joined the Colts.
