There is no contest.

Go read their thread about the Colts-Charger game. Niners are trash. Through and through.

What were they saying?

Just playing devils advocate we have done the wave and started big chants like SEA! HAWKS! while opposing players on down on the field. Granted SF has a history of being dbags but it could just be the fans being bored rather some malicious intent. But what do I know.

Not buying it. I've been a fan since 76 and have been to a lot of games and have never seen anything close to it.

Sorry to put you on the spot but there has been a ton of Niner fans posting as Seahawk fans just for threads like these. With 124 post's I have to question your validity.
And yes Harbaugh sucks.

What! How dare you bring logic and truth into this thread! the 49ers are the enemy! DOWN WITH HARBS!

Texans fans are hard to peg as a fan base. On the internet, they have seemed great, but we keep hearing these weird stories of them doing strange things in the real world.

But yeah, Niners fans are definitely the worst.

It's very hard to comment on this without sounding like a racist. Look up Houston's demographics and you might get an idea of what's going on in the Houston area. Look closely at this picture. I assure you that the problem in Houston is predominately one aspect of the "fan base".

I'm not saying that what you see is the whole problem, but is am saying it is a large part of what has been in the news as of late.

Prolly should have kept that thought to yourself. What you thought you'd sound like is what you sound like.

Yea Cali you are correct, but was a risk I was willing to take. That's why I pointed nobody out, only put the info out there for others to draw their own conclusions. Houston fans are getting a bad reputation fast, and it's sad that this can happen, based on the actions of only a few. My comment was/is in defense of Houston "fans" , they are a great group in general. The negative things that have made national news lately are not indicative of the entire fan base. Unfortunately when the media gets a hold of it, the story gets slanted in a direction that creates hype.
Case in point. Couple of weeks ago, a good sized group of Seahawk fans traveled to Houston for the game. As far as I know, that entire group left Houston, thinking that Houston people are great, awesome, incredible. "best away game ever". Now we are two weeks removed and Houston fans are being compared to the fans in SF.
I live in the Houston area and I make my living as a public servant in Houston. Houston is a very diverse city, and that is a good thing. I deal with the pros and cons of that diversity on a daily basis. I'm not sure why one aspect of a population would see, view, and react to particular event, differently than another aspect of the same population, but it happens.
In light of what has been happening in Houston, it appears this is the case. It is what it is. I didn't make it that way, it just is. I love and care for all people. My choice of career should be evidence enough of this, I do not get to pick and choose who I help. I do what I do because I love people, not because of the money, trust me it's not much.

If a group of people separates themselves from the rest of society by thought processes or actions, that is their choice. If the thought process and actions taken by that same group of people, gets them viewed differently than the rest of said society, they also must choose to accept that view or change.

The things that are happening in the Houston area that are causing the sports world to say "Houston fans suck" are in fact being done by " mostly" one aspect of the fan base. The fact that I pointed to this, does not make me a racist.

Cali, I agree with you. I should have kept my thoughts on the issue to myself, but I didn't. I do however stand by what I said.

I didn't say you were. I was there in Houston and the people were all awesome at and away from the game. Including everyone. I don't want to start a pwr thread out of this. However people are stupid. This week its Houston and always SF. Philly has a horrible reputation built from the past and still alive and well. Our own have been capable of such acts. Chants for Charlie. We want Dilfer!!! Rooting to lose vs Rams for a better draft spot. KC last year Cassel got cheered when hurt. I just think its a stupid people issue.

Cali I'm ok with you. You only pointed out that I may have opened a can of worms better left closed. Houston fans are getting a bad rap, and I for some reason felt the need to defend them. I stand by my comments and will fade the heat for them.

I have to question your use of apostrophes. Some of you insecure posters on here are ridiculous. You are going to ignore the fact that I said I was playing devil's advocate simply because I have 124 posts? I have also been a fan since 76 granted I was pretty young then. The tickets I own have been in my family since the first year. I don't make it to every game anymore because I fly all over the place and am out of town for weeks on end. But I am as big of a fan as anybody here despite my low post count. If we want to measure dicks come on over to reddit and check my karma but do you really want to be that guy that judges people on post counts and internet points? Pull your head out of your ass bro.

Our fans did try to start the wave against SF while their DT went down with a broken leg but that isn't the only time I have seen it just this year. In preseason against Denver while their D line guy went down with that spinal injury our fans tried to start the wave AND started a very loud SEA!HAWKS! chant going. So two times this season alone our fans have done it and I bet if we had a time machine we could find a ton more examples.

Let's get off our high horse here. Trying to put yourselves into the mindset of the crowd is losing exercise because they are mostly drunk idiots. That doesn't mean that they are malicious drunk idiots. At the same time having been to SF it wouldn't surprise me if they were truly trying to be assholes. The point is most fanbases given alcohol and an extended break in the action will fill the silence.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure the wave had nothing to do with "YAY FOR INJURY". Lets be honest, whenever an actual wave gets done at a football game, it's pretty fun. But when are you really going to be able to pull it off? half time, everyone is going to concessions/bathroom. Commercial breaks aren't long enough (from my experience it takes a good few minutes for the whole stadium to realize what's going on). The crowd was just trying to kill time and have fun during an injury time out. I guess a weather delay would have been a better time to do one, but I doubt the crowd themselves had ill will in mind when they did it. It's definitely not anything near the same as the crowd in Houston cheering with Schaub got hurt. Now that's classless. I'd just call this one bad timing.

I think the Niners fanbase as a whole is worse than Houston's based on my experiences (and the experiences of friends of mine) but I think there is an element of the Texans' fanbase that is just going overboard to ridiculous extremes. Cheering an injury to your own quarterback? Showing up at the guy's house??? That's just insane.

I have been to every game since the new stadium opened and have never once seen the wave or heard a Seahawks chant while a player was injured. A few drunk (or not drunk) idiots in your section trying to start something is a little different than the entire stadium participating in it. I doubt the niner fans did it because of the injury, but still a stupid thing to do at the time.

Then you weren't paying attention at the SF game. The wave went around at least twice with more than a little participation. Just because you don't realize it happening doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

What were they saying?

They took a normal conversation about the game to a topic of River's wife's vagina because he has seven kids. It was pure trashy talk and they were not even playing the Chargers. They spend a page on this topic.

I could kind of see it if they were playting them, but they weren't.

eta: these are the same fans who told me they did not need a "shack" like you have because they are above that kinda talk.

The problem with all fan bases are simple it's full of humans and by nature humans are so beyond emotional they lower their morals to that of animals because they can not remove emotions from their actions. And if one fan base has it figured out perfectly then good for them. I doubt there is one. While there are better and worse ones they all are emotional when it comes to what the believe in

Speaking of classless. Reminds me of 12/24/11 game. Kyle Williams took a cheap shot by two Seattle players on a return. On the field for quite awhile with what was clearly a serious injury. Later we found it was a concussion. After he laid on the ground for awhile with med staff, Seattle fans start cheering. I think I even remember some seahawk players asking the crowd to quiet down as well.

My apologies. Don't worry, I'm sure I'll be burned next!
