I was too busy freaking out to pay attention and plan to go back to watch the final drive tomorrow but did anyone focus on Haynes after he came in at guard? I’m sure he’ll be playing for a few weeks so I’m curious how he did.

Yes. I’m very worried at both guard spots going forward unfortunately… maybe Sundell can move to G when he comes back. Losing Zabel was the biggest downer of the day.

Nope, I don't. Just thinking that the one big addition is now out for some time. So yeah, somebody might step up and we wont notice any difference. And that hot chick with the eye patch at Acme might buy me from my wife for a chest of gold coins.. Yeah I'm pissed off tonight and possibly taking this loss too hard.

Film is not that useful.

Nine passes with 6 completions against a successful prevent defense over a final minute and forty one seconds.

Next week's game will obviously feature a different 5 man line. Just as we saw a different 5 man line this week.

Different chemistry.

Haynes will be ok, just need more touches.
He needs more bench presses and squats. He needs better technique and leverage. He had a whole camp to try to beat Bradford and couldn't even do that. He didn't look good in limited action vs Rams.

So with Zabel out, they are basically back to the o line from last year. Bad day in Seahawkville.
Nah. Laken and a 3rd string RT were much bigger problems to overcome. Bradford still bad but not a complete disaster like last year

Here's what I saw: On a couple of plays he got manhandled and pushed around like a rag doll. But generally held his own, and looked better than Bradford. But it wasn't enough plays to really make any definitive statement about his play.

I went back and rewatched him specifically through the final drive and this play was by far the worst play he had. He definitely still needs work but overall on that drive, considering it was his first real drive of the season, he mostly did ok. More practice with the starters can only help but he’s definitely a downgrade from Grey so hopefully this is only very short term.

Just need a couple more touches, and he will be pretty good.

I really hope so. I’d like to see him become our long term replacement for Bradford. If not we have to go back to the draft.
With Haynes, Bradford, Zabel and Sundell, this is the core and strength of our Schneider line. Not only for their individual strength but IOL depth. Just need more time and touches.

Again, PFF can't be trusted:

Totally not matching our eyeballs.

I'm not happy about being right. I didn't like the trade for Shaheed, and wanted to get an upgrade for the OL because we were just one injury on OL away from having real problems. Peopled mocked me, but an upgrade at OL would've helped us much more than Shaheed.

Just because we didn’t trade for a lineman doesn’t mean they didn’t look for one. They very well could have but either didn’t like the ones available or the price was too steep.

Getting Shaheed improves the team in the long run so there’s really no reason to dislike it just because of the position.
