Earl was and always will be a 100% on fire competitor.

But hes a worker bee. He puts in his time. He does his job. And then he goes home.

Hes not the kind to go out of his way to form connextions.

Hes not the kind to pull a young guys aside and teach them and train them.

Hes not the kind who is going to mentor his successor.

Hes not the kind to be sought put for personal and professional advice.

Kam still is that.

Wagner is that.

Shoot, even Sherman and Lynch were those kinds of guys.

But Earl is a lone ranger.

I disagree. He went far out of his way to LEAD all the way to the Dallas tunnel to say ‘come get me’

Without RW we are probably a mid to bottom-half team, with Rusell Wilson though, we always have a shot.

This.

Russell's the reason we went 10-6 last year and made the playoffs. That's what a top 5-7 QB does for you, while healthy he will always put you in contention to win games and make the playoffs.

It's a very interesting season for us, with so much new raw talent I can see us struggling early and maybe not getting the wins to make the playoffs again...........but I can also see Russell and our nasty run game dominating games and allowing the defense a little breathing room to grow and mature.

Which means having a great year and going deeper into the playoffs.

Carter? Who cares, after his 8,000th terrible hot take you'd think they'd stop asking his opinion.

Agree. Floyd best described Earl IMO.....

Of course "he's not wrong", it's an opinion about events that have yet to take place.

Come November he most definitely will become wrong though!

Saying it is silly to believe in your team at seasons beginning is a bad look that reeks of telling others how to be a fan.

Carter might be a bit of a moron, but he's not wrong.
Unless the D miraculously overperforms, 8-8 is right.
Now, obviously a lot of factors come into play here.
There just doesn't seem to be much hope for a winning season.
Silly to think otherwise, IMO.

Other than that's what everyone thought last year with a worse roster, and we went 10-6.

- better O-line
- best LB corp in the league
- better run game with both Carson and Penny completely healthy
- more dynamic offense in year two with Russell and Schotty (we saw that in only two drives Sunday night)
- no more Earl and Doug distractions all year
- more depth at LB, DB, WR, RB and safety

I guess we could go 8-8? But I just don't see it with an improved roster and offense. Still question marks on the defensive side of the ball, but Pete's NEVER failed to put together a top 15 defense, no matter who's on the roster.

By definition, a m***n is always wrong.

And your agreement with a m***n makes you wrong. And a m***n.

Silly to think otherwise.

Thanks for holding me accountable. I really do appreciate it.

And I know peaches appreciates you having his back.

But back to our regularly scheduled programming . . .

I do remember that one time when a Russell Wilson led team failed to have a winning record . . .

Thanks for having my back man. We gotta stick together, you know? Stem the rising tide.

No worries. I'll give most people the benefit of the doubt. :2thumbs:

But if I'm to be honest here....I have no clue who to trust around here right now. :?:

Can we please stay on topic and cease pissing on each other’s shoes.

I thought Carter was full of it last year and he was wrong, he’s still full of it and is wrong. 8-8 is pessimistic, with the team’s schedule 10-6 might be optimistic unless some of the young players break through and step up. JMO of course and it is as valid as Carter’s although my thinking last year was 10-6.

What other young player other than maybe Collier do we need to breakout to go 10-6 again?

Most of the new players are right now depth or injured if you thought they had a chance of starting (Metcalf and Blair).

Which is fine, good depth players turn into good starters, but I certainly don't think we NEED them to be stars to compete for the division and get to the playoffs again.

- Healthy Russell
- Healthy O-line
- Bend but don't break defense
- Continue to grow the offense in year #2 with Schotty and Russell and the #1 run game in the league

That's all we need.

I guess that's better than being full of crap. Sometimes you need gumboots or hip waders around here.

Just trying to reign in a convo that is straying from topic.

Good work, jammerhawk. Nothing worse than allowing a conversation to organically go in different directions.

If you guys don’t have anything to say about the thread topic, just don’t post at all, that way, we can preserve the perfect, sterile environment we have here at dot net. Remember, the NFL and the Seahawks .org frequent this board, so we have to make sure that posts don’t stray from the originally stated topic, otherwise what would they think?

Keep up the good work, mods. :2thumbs:

LOL!

Ultimately my friend you will come to realize that staying on topic isn't a bad thing.

Until then I've made my comments on the topic here and they were on topic instead of disintegrating into name calling or thinly veiled attacks upon those who you disagree with or who disagree with you. Not necessarily pointing the finger at any one person only asking peeps to play nice. That is the crap we've been asked as the moderators, who you lampoon, to you know, moderate.

Antiseptic and boring, most here would disagree, but then again we are all different and like different things.

Wow, off point again Peaches, but I heartily disagree.

There are a lot of great posters here, and a great deal of excellent football knowledge combined with a location that pools knowledge of the team, it's coaches, management, ownership, and prospects. In short this site is a valuable source of Seahawks information sides being a place where we can kvetch about players among other things.

Dying you say? Really? On the basis of what information? Or is this your theory b/c you can't freestyle here like you like while name calling and lampooning those who contribute their time to make the place PG as the mission statement says it should be. My belief from the number of new posters i see every day we have applying is the site is growing.

You are a very funny guy, and bring lots of smiles to many here, but humour at the expense of others is cheap stuff and in a sense unworthy of a genuine intellect. Yes the board has changed and some great and awesome posters and site creators have stepped back with the changes and perhaps as a result of changing policy of the new ownership. Change isn't always good but doesn't have to be bad. Different maybe but I dispute the dying. Convince me, but do so in a thread about it rather than in a thread about some ex- football star who dislikes the Seahawks and makes unfounded predictions for click bait.

The main board here is chock full of information, and each of the other forums are places source of info for the football fanatics we all are all different and there are lots of places you can have your organic conversation and not face some gentle attempts at moderation.

Now back to the thread, it's about Carter's prediction. Agree or disagree, make discussion as to why. Post your complaints in another thread or forum or PM me, the owner, or other mods, but then again you think we are all killjoys. Killjoys who volunteer our time to try to herd a few cats, attempt to keep the peace, and take guff for it. I believe we need to have a discussion generally about the direction of the site to keep it fresh. The site may be owned by an individual but it is nothing without us members.
