I'm actually a little less concerned about the Eagles now than I was then. Foles hasn't looked like a cyborg in the past few weeks, though he's still a very good QB with deadly accuracy and the balls to make the kind of clutch throws that beat us. McCoy seems like the kind of RB profile that would do well against us in the past, but Seattle's run D has played extremely well for most of this season.
The Eagles haven't really played anyone all year that can press like Seattle can while simultaneously defending the big play. Sherman, Maxwell, and Thomas like it when teams throw deep on their assignments. I would be pretty surprised if Foles left Seattle with fewer than two picks. Doesn't mean he can't win, Palmer just won in Seattle with four. But that would mean the Eagles defense stepping up in a way that strikes me as unlikely.
Seattle is playing very good football but that effectiveness is masked by a string of recent teams being equipped to attack Seattle's weaknesses on offense. The Eagles are not one such team, and I would expect the Eagles game to look a lot more like the Saints' game here than either of Seattle's two recent losses.
Still, punchers chance and all that. The Eagles are playing good and they have a decent chance of breaking 30 on Seattle if they have a perfect day. I'm guessing they'll need at least 30 to win, maybe 35. The Eagles upsetting Seattle would not be terribly surprising, but it would be if they don't need a ton of points to do it.
If anyone is afraid of the Eagles, they should at least take solace in the fact that it is impossible for them to face us before the NFCCG. They'll have to get through the Saints and Panthers first.
I think the alarm was sounded for most when Foles took over the offense. Great passing attack + potent running game = awesome offense. I do agree we will never see the Eagles. No way do they stop Carolina from scoring enough to beat them. But I do believe the Saints will fall short today and Philly will go on to take a 27-10 type thumping from the Panthers and I see us beating SF with a similar score.
