The obvious decision. Maybe not a top 5 LT, but too good to waste time and money trying to upgrade.

First time Schneider has used the fifth year option.

EDIT: I mistakenly said most recently drafted pick since Earl; that wasn't in the CBA yet. That started a year or two after.

Bout time , they didn't really have a choice and he was left on an island so much last year especially
We could do much worse than cross , now if lucas returns to form and even 1 rook plays well we could be in for a much better situation

He's average. And average is not bad in the NFL. Good move.

Hopefully he turns into the beast he was sold as. Pretty lackluster in terms of expectations coming out of College.

Solid player, but not a world beater.
Better than the guys picked right around him. Especially Evan Neal who was picked before him.

Good news. I thought they might just extend him though.

Great news. I was getting nervous with John's noncommittal answer last week and the deadline getting closer.

Cross is a good, serviceable LT. He was never worth being taken 9th overall, as being picked 9th should mean you are the leading example of the position.

But as I said, good so picking him up on the 5th year fixes short term headaches and keeps the line consistent. I think they’ll be looking towards 2026 for a replacement tackle prospect.

He’s a solid player and his best days are ahead of him.

This makes sense. I’d like to think that they’d bring will use that 17.56 million guaranteed next year to work out an extension lowering his cap hit and keeping here long term but that’s now next offseason problem.

Good for Cross. He’s earned it. It was only a matter of time. They had until Friday to do it. I think JS was hoping for an extension but they weren’t close yet.
