Going from Russell Wilson to the 2nd Coming of Rick Mirer is not that exciting a prospect.

But I can see they would need to try to sell it early so it won't sting so much while we are stuck with it.

They'd be better off just working out a trade where they send Wilson to the Jets for a 7th rounder, cover his salary cap hits, and let them keep Darnold. The Seahawks would be terrible but at least they'd immediately just start looking at randos in the draft. That has a low probability of panning out, but at least they won't spend multiple years trying to figure out if Darnold is "the guy" to ultimately find out he isn't.

Could be the Jets getting the bidding going. Especially since they got us to greatly overpay them just a year ago.

THese are the types of things that cannot make me take this board seriously

Let’s put this is perspective. Has Pete Carroll ever said a negative word about anyone???

If you want to be a perennial 5 win team, Darold is your guy.

U know I read the original article PC spoke well of Darnold, like he has about almost everyone. No place did he say he was interested in getting Darnild. More made up crap.

At least if the Hawks trade Wilson and finish as one of the worst teams, they'll get a very high draft pick!

Oh wait they traded it for a Safety due to make $18M+ a year

"Safety"

But he is a safety.... Safety is also a position that isn't highly valued right now, safeties are going lower in the draft and less in free agency. Paying two first for Adams was absolutely a stupid move.

Stop looking intensely at the position safety and realize his ability. He is a game changing player. Safety or not. Postion title means nothing. He absolutely was worth 1st's. No player in the game right now is like him and we have him. Get over the trade. He is a hawk.
Once again, the value of that trade wasn't there. We're paid 2 firsts for an inbox safety that is only alright in coverage. Every time we blitz Adams we take a man out of coverage. The Bears paid close to what we did for Adams to get Khalil Mack, and Mack was a premier pass rusher when he was traded.

Adams is a great player, but we still got hosed. We traded for a position that isn't valued in the NFL, and we spent two first for it. The trade was a dumb play, we're going to pay the price for it.

Spin,

Every blitz takes a man out of coverage.

Adams is all world at getting to the QB in a blink.

Regardless of the water under the bridge with Adams (and he could have worked out here had Dunbar not been near worthless and Pete not held this team back)

Let us all hope we do not get Darnold.

It makes no sense.

Darnold is not a rookie. He looks closer to Rick Mirer than Carson Palmer. And bet money that he will end up on some weird contract that still pays him more than a couple of very good players at other positions (like OL or defense).

He is basically a giant albatross the Jets want to get rid of and trading for him would be classic Carroll but monumentally stupid. Sign him as a FA if you have to. There is no evidence he can even be good yet.

You don't trade for garbage if you can help it. I know this FO loves to do so though.

You can argue nobody could be good on the Jets and that the Titans got a decent QB by taking a Jets castoff. But has Darnold ever looked good in the NFL? Ever?

I seriously doubt that Carroll has said anything like that he is high on anyone to replace Wilson. Someone may have said something like: If Wilson's leaves could you be happy with Darnold ? Uh huh

No. Can training camp start already? Tired of seeing the dead horse get beat.

An opposing head coach spoke highly of the other team’s QB the week they were set to play that team? Gee, that never happens.

Seriously, the Darold to Seattle rumors might the biggest reach yet.

I looked at Sam’s stat and see that he’s thrown too many INT’s for Pete to be happy with that. I would rather trade for Gardner Minschew. He’s got 2 years left on his rookie deal, worth around $3M total. His turnover rate is way lower for a crappy jags team.
