I figure the guys who said that aren't going to show up in this thread
I'm here.

His rookie season was overrated as hell and the arguments that people would make in his favor were largely misleading. I grew very tired of hearing about "double teams" and games where he barely played (like the Dolphins and second Rams game) as evidence that the team only wins when he plays. Yes, I was hyperbolic, as I often am, but I did not think his performance was remotely encouraging.

He was fantastic in this one. The physical ability is there; I certainly would never claim that he's incapable of ever playing well. Let's hope he keeps it going, because you can never have enough quality bodies on the DL.

I never called him a bust, it was just that he was much hyped, and he was a rookie playing like most rookies. He has definitely taken a couple steps forward. I think D Law had a lot to do with the success of the D line today. He adds a special spice to the D.

Typical. Fake Crow. As usual
Do you ever post anything that isn't just bitching about other posters not being positive enough? Like seriously? You derail every damn thread with this crap, while never providing any actual knowledge or insight on anything.

Don't bother responding, I'll make your next post for you: "Go Hawks?".

Whatever man. Go Hawks
You were wrong. Again.
Piss off dude. You can't even acknowledge an apology from someone. I sent you a legit apology, you ignored it. You're a 5 year old who can't just admit you were wrong.

He is right though. You were way off calling him a bust and you still were doubling down on it this year and now you give a very weak meah culpa. Just admit it you were very very wrong and your proclamations were silly.

He would have whined no matter what I said. It's what he does. He's a laugh react warrior who stalks my posts and it gets annoying. I don't even know what the hell "apology" he's talking about, but whatever. I told myself I wouldn't engage him anymore, so that's a failure on my part.

Like I said, Murphy was fantastic today. The entire DL feasted; it was great. He has been inconsistent this season IMO, but that's not unusual for a young player either. If he keeps this up, I'm more than happy to admit I judged him too harshly too quickly. I have admitted being wrong about a number of players over the years, both from liking them too much, and from not liking them enough. I called AJ Barner a stupid pick last season, and am happy eating that crow. He's a beast, and the front office deserves enormous credit for seeing something beyond what he showed in college.

Expecting anyone to jump from one extreme to the other after one game is unreasonable. Murphy took a huge leap today in proving me wrong. If you need more than that, I don't know what to tell you.

People just expect too much instant gratification from a player from the get go. They don’t understand that it takes time to develop player

People just like to call out players

I was extremely happy we drafted him
Never had an issue with his play as a rookie
I am enjoying watching him learn his craft

Overrated as hell? The graphs showed he had great win rates against the run and pass. Just because you make up his season was overrated as hell doesn’t make it true.
