Zero tough questions asked of Carroll today.

Almost as unacceptable as Irvin's suspension.

That's the Seattle media for you--polite, politically correct and toothless.

I don't like Marvin. He talks too much...

Good to know. I also noticed you didn't have an answer.

So I read Avril has a foot injury... I am a little more worried. Apologies if this has been stated in the 20+ previous pages.

Or a couple other threads.

Great, I come back from a few days of vacation to read about this. C'mon, man.

As for the rash of failed tests, it makes sense if you consider that Browner was using Adderall (or some other PED). If there's a supplier in the group, it'd be easy for a young player to get caught up in what happened. Most likely this happened right around when the Seahawk leaked tests were 'announced', and the NFL started to crack down on the team. It's a bummer, and I hope this is the end of it.

It's not a dealer. I'm 51 and have been offered it on many occasions. Walk up to three people in a pub and one will probably have some.

Yes

Wow. I never would have guessed. Weed, blow, yes. I don't know if anyone in the bars I hang out with would offer me aderall. Guess I need to get out more.

I was talking with a coworker today about this. He is 23 and his girlfriend is in college (UW) right now. He said that everyone he knew of in college was on it even the 4.0 and valedictorian type students.

The pub I used to go to regularly before moving to a different town was mostly an older crowd but I still stop back in there from time to time and the crowd is now much younger. I would bet it wouldn't take much of anything to find someone in there that not only has some but would give up some for a drink.

It's probably how Papaki got such good grades.

No I'm really not. Aderol (sp) is much more prevalent than you think. Like I said, I am 51 and have been offered it multiple times. The conversation I have today with one of the young guys only confirms what I already suspected.

Don't get me wrong. If you go into a pub with an older crowd I don't expect this but is younger crowds it is definitely around.

Almost forgot to mention that I absolutely love Irvin's candid apology and love that, despite his mistake, he's still looking to better times in the future. He knows he messed up and he's going to attempt to move forward and fix things. It's his first transgression with the Hawks. He's only human, that's all of our tragic flaw in the end. All he can do is hope for better days. Sure, he has an obligation to the team and he let that down. But again, he's human and we all make mistakes. I'm willing to give Bruce a 2nd chance. I don't think he'll disappoint.
Yeah Coug, I'm with you on this one.
Just too many jokers in this deck we call .NET :17:
I've tried humor with some of this blow it out of proportion crowd, there's just too much OMG that they've factored into this incident.
Now obviously, Pete is going to have to break up some flippant behavior problems, and a stiff warning to these guys, that they could very well lose their spot on the 'Always Compete' roster while they're out on suspension.
they need to be reminded that every move they make, is a career move.

I'm not going to lie and say people don't use it. Plenty do. But I'm a UW student and I've only met a handful of people who use it. No one's ever offered me any either. Before I came to UW, I was expecting its prevalence to be much higher than it actually is.

Just my experience. Mine could be totally abnormal.

Maybe the coworker was exaggerating also. But like I said, I have been offered it on several occasions. I do hang out with a pretty diverse crowd of all ages though and we do party a bit so maybe my experience is not normal either.

It's not as common as some people are trying to make it seem.

Your dumb team is no better than our dumb team in this.

Well, they're better at not getting caught.

As I said before....it's naive to think every single player on any given team is clean.

You do have to wonder why it's been so many 'hawks in such a short time, but I really don't think it's organizational.

My entire point tho was to peeps who were trying to skew this into a good thing. Most of the 'hawks fans on this board ripped them new ones. The only reason peeps are jumping on me is that I happen to be the fan of a different team.

This could easily have been SF tho. There were rumors just before the draft last year that the 49ers had interest in Irvin, so even tho the talking heads ripped Seattle for taking him that high, he would never have been on the board as long as those idiots think he would.
Marvin, I think in a case like this it would be better for fans of other teams who post here to just stay out of it. Likewise I think we should do the same if something happens to another team whose boards we visit.

Frankly when something like this occurs, fans are going to be up in arms. And having fans of another team post seems to add fuel to the fire, even when that may not be the intention.

Discretion is always the better part of valor.
