Not sure how that makes them desperate or even trashy. Maybe many of the starters didn’t play much in the preseason because they wanted to see how the new players performed first and now just wanna play the starters for a certain amount of time to get them ready for a game in a few weeks from now.

Considering teams play 3 instead of 4, you're probably gonna' see more starters from SOME teams. Meh, just keep playing well, avoid too many injuries and get ready to rock. I like the 2 weeks before the season starts too. Teams have a ton of decisions to make in the next week. While Cleveland has been a joke of a franchise for a long time, having starters play doesn't make them trash. Lots of other stuff does hahahaha
Shoot, the Chiefs played Mahomes and other starters.

This. We'll get at least one series from our starters. Macdonald said he was leaving it up to "the guys" to decide how long they needed. Used to be starters played at least the first quarter of the last preseason game.
