Yup.

#1 concern is the veterans on defense are not wrapping up. They are not stacking and shedding properly and also containing the edge is an issue.

DT has been flogged for not setting the edge but Nwosu made mistakes as well by not staying home. So this is easy to clean up if the veterans on defense start to stick to their assignments and not free lance so much.

Brooks is a big disappointment. He was solid last year and seems lost this year. I think the new defense just isn't working for some guys, which is a huge problem.

How about instead of phrases like "stop hate" on their helmets, they go with "wrap up" and "don't freelance".

I really thought we would be losing games 17-7, or whatever. Not giving up a bunch of points to a bad ATL team.

To me, Taylor looked a little bit better today rushing and setting the edge. He wasn't perfect. He still got wiped out on a few plays. He wasn't horrible today. The players that stood out to me today was Cody Barton and Jordan Brooks. Barton in particular got fooled plenty of times for huge gains in the run game. He didn't stay home during Patterson's TD run.

Brooks or Bryant had a really bad play early in the game. One of them failed to cover or carry a receiver on a play. That was a big time blown coverage.

Taylor and Brooks are not playing to expectations for sure. Especially Taylor, he's been downright terrible, and his lack of effort on some plays is very frustrating... Barton is not a starting quality linebacker, opponents running gaps are huge....

taylor simply isn't a fit in this scheme. we are asking him to contain his side as an every-down 3-4 backer, when in reality he's just a situational 4-3 edge rusher. he's not a good run defender, and not a scheme fit.

add to it i think we are over-using him, he's just gassed after the 1st quarter. i don't think its just "lack of effort". he looks gassed.

brooks took over bobby's role as defensive playcaller, he's thinking too much. he's better when he's just a downhill tackler.

You disagree?
I dont know what i think other than these guys need reps i think they are starting to get better... i still think 4-5 games maybe more before they gel.. it going to take some time...but its doable

IMO the transition to a 3-4 defense is going to take time. We need to draft or sign free agents that can be legit DEs on our 3-4 defense. Use one of our 1st round picks on a pass rushing OLB in the upcoming draft. Our safeties are too old/injury prone, so that is a high priority position for the next draft.
