Salk was freakin' fantastic. That guy knows sports, and can add original thought. Mitch, and sometimes Jim Moore, are the only folks left in this town capable of doing that.

I'm sorry, but Brock Huard is terrible. The day he says something profound will be his first. And I liked Brock as a player and as a guy. But he is just awful. I just hate when you can tell he's starting to ramp up. It makes my skin crawl, it is so, so terrible. "So you're tellin me, that Pete Carroll, with all his rah-rah, and all his compete, and John Schneider with all his film study, and all his scouting, and all these hungry players and all his this and all his that........" "And Jim Harbaugh with all his this and all his this and all his this and all his this....."

You could tell that Salk had complete disdain for having to act like he agreed with some of the thoughtless points out there. "I see what you're saying and I agree with this part, but....."

I know somebody out there knows what I'm talking about.

X's and O's? Brock knows them, but he doesn't get into them, and when he does, he doesn't communicate them well. His sense of humor is better than I thought. But he brings zero original thought to sports, and isn't good enough at the radio thing to get by on style. And I was hoping Danny would be better than he is. To me, that show is a complete and utter trainwreck now. I hate to say it, but it is time for another import.

Wait, better than Warren Moon? Moon isn't great, but he thinks.

I had to google it. I was actually rfing to "Chalk Talk". A segment by him. X's and O's.

I like these and I too hope he makes a regular season transition because Warren Moon is terrible as a tv personality.

Huard is very good and will do well in the booth. I would not be surprised at some point he transitions to it full time. He seems to struggle a bit at times as the #1 on the radio show. Salk was a natural , but IMO never really brought any insights to football that I found all that great. He was very good on baseball
I agree with this. Salk never knew anything about X's and O's. He's a good radio personality and I can see why Hawks fans would like him. But Salk never brought anything to a constructive football discussion. Sure, he might have elevated Brock's bits, but it wasn't like Salk knew much about the game.
