The actual gameplan was stomped in the first quarter. Be it holding calls or whatever, the OC is responsible. 2 weeks these guys had to prepare what they would do on offense. The first 3 drives they went backwards and gave up a safety.
How do you blame the defense for that?
The defense was on the field for 25/30 minutes in the first half.
The offense didn't move the ball until they threw the gameplan out the window and went to a high tempo attack against a defense that softened up protecting a 19 point lead.
The defense basically scored 12 points, could have been 14 points but for those great offensive guru plays for 2 point conversions. Those were spectacular work.
The defense despite being on the field for the entire first half, actually stepped up in the 3rd quarter giving the team a chance. THEY turned momentum. THEY put up points and got the offense the ball. 3 times.
But yea. This game was totally on the defense. LMFAO!
This defense isn't as good as the 2013 Seahawks, that's for sure. This offense isn't in the same universe as the 2013 offense, that's a fact. This defense, with a middle of the pack basic offense, would be 7-2 right now. There are teams that would KILL to have the defense this team has. NOBODY wants anything to with the offense. It's the laughing stock of the NFL.
But yea, great job Bevell. At least Siouxhawk thinks you're doing a great job. :th2thumbs:
I will say this about the defense. Richard is no better than Bradley when it comes to getting the team off the field on 3rd and medium situations. 3rd and long he can unleash the hounds and it usually works, but he struggles with coming up with something solid on 3rd and medium. Also, loved to see another game where the TE is left wide open in the seam in the redzone. They still haven't figured out how to stop that.
The defense is good, not great.
The offense is pathetic.
