I have to admit, the hubris of a Pats fan, desperately trying to convince the rest of us that his team, which has been known to cheat at an institutional level, didn't cheat, despite a mountain of circumstantial evidence to the contrary, is humorous and rather enjoyable to witness. I can literally taste his seething anger as he so fervently defends the honor of Brady, the quarterback whose only comparison would have been the revered Joe Montana, if only his wee hands didn't require the equipment managers to remove a pound and a half of air from the ball, enabling his admittedly average mitts to grip it properly.

Brady is forever going to have an asterisk next to his name. When people remember the great QBs of this era, the fact he cheated will continue to be a point of debate. His greatness will never be indisputed. It's hilarious and I love it.

Obviously you are unable to debate the points I raise about the report. Instead you decide to belittle a fellow human being because of your obvious jealousy of what the Patriots have accomplished. It is your right to act this way towards someone, but...I'm just sayin' maybe a real debate might allow you to see that the real problem is the league office. How many things have they screwed up recently...(Gold cleats could get you suspended? Ray Rice investigation, BountyGate, Dolphins/Martin investigation, Tampering by the Jets,...the list goes on). So why all of a sudden do people think that the league has figured out how to operate? Oh yeah, because it is the Patriots and the report summary says what folks want it to say. Human nature I guess.

I am not bothered that you get joy from this, I probably would enjoy it if Peyton was accused of this too. However, I would also be willing to look at the facts and realize that it is a stupid (the whole thing) but enjoy it nonetheless.

I see no reason to debate it. The facts of the case aren't going to change as a result of debate. While the league office is certainly an issue, the league office had nothing to do with Tom Brady colluding with "Jonny Boy", to release a pound and a half of air from the game balls.

Dude's guilty as shit. No point debating it.

I am so tired of hearing Pats fans whine about the league having it out for you. I'm not going to respond to your suggestions because they are absurd. Your explanation for "the deflatot" nickname is priceless. As I pointed out before the Super Bowl, the Pats vast improvement in turnovers since Brady lobbied for the rule change is incredible. I, along with everyone outside of Boston believe this has been going on for years. Pats fans response that you played better against the Colts when the balls were properly inflated has some merrit, but not much since it wasn't cold and snowing. That is when the lower pressure would make the most difference. I believe you said the league wouldn't do anything because your team did nothing wrong. Now it's about to happen, you act like they are victims. If the NFL had balls they would have released the report before the draft and you would have lost picks this year, not next, along with the pending suspensions.

He's really trying, just admit your team got caught up, good god. No ones questioning your validity of your SB49 title, we practically handed yall that one at the goal line.

Which the same could be said about the Packers handing the game to the Seahawks in the prior game.....

Totally true and I live in Wisconsin. But I didn't go to the Packers forum and act like we kicked their ass and didn't get incredibly lucky. Or come and try to explain deflategate away as haters and jealousy not once, but twice.

So you think the report by Wells is perfect and has no faults?

All of a sudden the league is doing things right? Is this what I am hearing?

Not one person here who has read the report sees any holes in it?

If true, then I will leave and take my perspective with me. I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone had an open mind enough to hear/see the problems that a Pat fan has with the report. I think it behooves all NFL fans to look at the report and see if an NFL franchise is being treated fairly. I may have been mistaken, I have no problem admitting that I will see this report with a bias for the Patriots, but I also am open to intelligent debate, like with Ringless.

Imploring others to have an open mind with the caveat that they have to see it your way is a bit odd. Thanks for your perspective though. You're the first pats fan on the planet to call the report flawed and/or a sham.

Again, there is no debate. Your team got caught cheating and the punishment is up coming.

I'm not a fan of Rog (ask any of the regulars here) but why would he go out of the way to "look for trouble" and punish his buddy Bob Kraft (who many call the assistant commish) if the patriots did nothing wrong???

As others have said, the NFL's preferred findings would have been to find nothing or something minor so they could sweep it under the rug. Do you think the NFL wants to have their current champions tarnished in any way?

Do everyone a favor, take your fandom of the pats out of it, look at the big picture and use a little common sense and maybe you will see what you are missing.

But please don't leave until after the Brady suspension, I want to read your reaction/excuses. 8)

NW - Colts did NOT have control of the balls in Indy.

Each team gets to have their alla before and get them ready then have them after check by the refs

I am curious - what did the guy do with them in the bathroom in your opinion?

Why was he getting authographed items by Brady?

Jesus NW Patty! Look dude, Tom is punking you and every NFL fan. He is lying so badly it is insulting. Wake up child!

It is a favor to only accuse him of cheating and lying about one playoff game against the Colts. Tommy ****bag has been cheating since 2007 and every fully functioning brain in America knows it.

I always bought into him and the Patriots as a super driven bad ass dynasty, until Tom Brady lied like a felon in January. Now, the research, the report and his unaccountable, smug avoidance is as clear as HDTV. He is a liar and a cheat! He is the opposite of what the NFL should and will be after he is banned for life. The Patriots are a team that we admired and that we all wanted to defeat, because we thought they were simply great. They fooled us. They have been cheating and they were finally caught...again. They are a champion without honor.

Tom Brady is clearly establishing himself as not only a cheater, but an arrogant liar as well. He has been called on it and has never uttered a direct and clear denial. He's guilty! He displays low character. The only so-called conspiracy that might be taking place is how the NFL can punish him without acknowledging how much damage he and Belichik have inflicted on the defining sport of our country. Cowards and wimps turn a blind eye.

If Brady and Belichik are ever allowed to disgrace our great sport again it will be recorded as having taken place under the watch of the most inconsistent and alarmingly inept commissioner in the history of American sports. On the other hand, if Goodell does the right thing he will cement a legacy of having navigated the NFL through a period of question back to a national past time that is beyond reproach. Back to a league of men that respect the warrior code. Back to the greatest sport in American history.

Even Damien Woody who was his center said he cheated as well as Chris Simms who was part of the team in 2012. They must've known something, especially Woody who was his CENTER.

It is amusing that Brady will always be mentioned as the guy who cheated in greatest ever debates. He nullified his chances to be the best by lying his ass off.

I bear the Pats no ill will. They didn't make the shitty play call. I have never been jealous of their success. They are not in the Hawks division, there is no rivalry, though I will admit I was happy as hell they choked on going 19-0, mostly because the softest single season schedule in the history of the NFL didn't deserve a 19-0 mark.

Fact is, the long term cheating, texts do verify "deflator" was doing his thing at least in 2013 and 2014, isn't that big a bother to me. And not because I assume everyone was doing it, though I am sure more than the Pats were. I feel that way because I can see how the NFL created an atmosphere where it kind of felt OK to do it. Not so OK that Tom and his two idiots didn't still sneak around though.

But Tom deserves to be suspended for lying his ass off. The cover up is always worse than the crime. Tom played dumb in front of the country the week after the game where years of bending rules finally got caught. Pretending he didn't know the name of a guy he was spending hours talking to that week while he was in the process of covering his ass. Seriously, he stood in front of the country and pretended he did not know that guy, but had been yakking with him on the phone for a substantial period of time before that presser.

What a dishonest piece of shit. He had the choice to be Giambi or Bonds. He chose Bonds. Nobody talks shit about Jason Giambi anymore. Everybody hates Bonds. The public never forgives liars.

I never really had any ill will towards the Patriots either, at least until they were accused of cheating this many times. Also, I believe that deflating footballs is a huge deal because of the HUGE impact fumbles have on the outcome of games. One fumble could easily have a 14 point swing in a game and is a very big deal. This could have possibly made them a mediocre team if they fumbled at a normal rate. Add to that Brady lied and this is a disgrace to the league. I think he should be gone from the league and Belichick suspended at least a year. It's ridiculous that this keeps going on with this team but they never receive any real punishment. I guess the kids growing up rooting for their team will be disappointed that their team and hero didn't win the Super Bowl because they didn't cheat enough to get an edge like the Cheatriots did.

I would have been fine if Brady said durring his press conference, Yes I asked the ball boy to lower the psi. I get that it was against regulations and I take full responsibility for that.
Slap on the wrist and I was ready to move on. He lied imo and how anyone can deny it is beyond me. While I don't think this is on the scale of Ray Rice and Greg Hardy the NFL must make an example of him. The integrity of the game is on the line, Comish has all eyes on him and he knows he has to get this right or risk an even bigger shadow cast over this season. Brady should be suspended 4-6 games.

How is it a "sting" when all they did was check the balls at half time? A sting is when someone is deliberately tempted into committing a crime and then punished for it. Like leaving the keys in a car to catch car thieves, or setting up a fake deer to catch poachers. They're led to the crime they commit. The league doing a spot check of footballs during a game isn't a sting.
Go to any pats forums and read their conspiracy theorys. It's quite entertaining. 95% of the pats fans on the sites I visited echo the talking points of NWpatsfan or WORSE. I always thought that most pats fans were pretty level headed, looks like a wiffed bad on that assessment. They are on the Cowboys, Stealers, 49'er fan level of delusional, and may pass those other fan bases soon.

Hawk fans don't ever have conspiracy theories?

This is exactly how i feel. I rooted for the pats, I enjoyed watching them play. Now I know they cheated. I agree he should be banned for life and no HOF. As said before, anyone with half a brain can point to him cheating since 2007.

Well, Bevell was just covering his own sorry ass for the craptastic "2nd and wrong" playcall.

Question: Since Bevell was the real MVP for the Pats in SB 49, when is his bronze statue outside of Gillette Stadium going to be finished?
