To NWpats fan....
When looking at the entire report, in general it seems Patriots fans find the most complicated explanation for everything that came up. I could understand it with one incident. But when its over 200 pages, eventually it paints a picture. Its ridiculous to think that each one has a very complicated explanation. And as each explanation is needed its a little less likely that the complicated situation is true... See below. I hope this helps you see that it would take a tremendous amount of coincidences:
My questions... Why Did Brady say he didn't know McNally? Who has been an Employee of the Patriots for 32 years... Yes 32 years.. Who also told the officials before the game that Brady himself told him he wanted the balls at 12.5 PSI? Please explain...
Why had their been previous complaints about under inflated balls in regards to the Patriots; and how did it become a coincidence that this game just happened to have under inflated balls as well.
Why did McNally take the balls without Permission, authorization, and without escorts?
Why did McNally not use the bathroom in the locker room?
Why did he take the balls into the bathroom with him?
Why did he lie and say he went straight to the field and then changed his story after being caught to using the urinal, in which a urinal didn't exist?
Why did the guy call himself the deflator? Why did he talk about cash and deflating balls in the same texts?
What was this message in regards to? "Chill buddy im just *edited* with you ....im not going to espn........yet"
If the Patriots balls were all at 12.5 at the start of the game, in the same officials locker room as the Colts balls (Who were at 12.9-13.1 why did the Patriots Balls drop from 12.5 below 11 (a Whole 1.5+ PSI drop compared to the Colts balls dropped 0.5-0.9 psi or less? Why wasn't the drop in PSI equal? Why did the pats balls lose a whole extra PSI?
Here is a quote to the above question from the report: According to our scientific consultants, however, the reduction in pressure of the Patriots game balls cannot be explained completely by basic scientific principles, such as the Ideal Gas Law, based on the circumstances and conditions likely to have been present on the day of the AFC Championship Game. In addition, the average pressure drop of the Patriots game balls exceeded the average pressure drop of the Colts balls by
9
0.45 to 1.02 psi, depending on various possible assumptions regarding the gauges used, and assuming an initial pressure of 12.5 psi for the Patriots balls and 13.0 psi for the Colts balls.
Why couldn't they resimulate the drop in air pressure of the Patriots balls in any scenario done in testing?
Why woudlnt Brady Cooperate or turn over his relevant cell phone records?
Did I mention thats only questions from the first 15 pages of the Wells report... Still over 200 more to go. I left some questions out... The texts inbetween those pages are very damming. Im sure all of that is just coincidence?
1st questiuon:
They asked Bruschi about McNally and he was like "who?"...they showed him a picture and he said..."Oh, you mean Bird". Evidently this guy goes by a nickname, which is not mentioned in the report. Makes one question the report.
As you say 32 years...that is a lot of games that he has taken the balls to the field, since he didn't do anything wrong why would he remember an innocent trip to the bathroom that took all of about two minutes. Remember the Seahawks/GB game went into OT and he may have been waiting around longer than expected in the tunnel.
2nd question:
Why do people complain about the Patriots having deflated balls is because they usually cannot beat them on the field so they need an excuse. The Colts complained about it from the Nov. game in Indy. The Colts have possesion of game balls in Indy. So did the Patriots deflate balls in front of 60,000 people? If so, the NFL had 100+ days to find that footage. Where is the evidence. Also, you say the balls were under inflated...that is a lie. What happened is the balls lost pressure due to atmospheric conditions.
3rd question:
If he wasn't doing something correctly, that was so out of the ordinary, why didn't the referee stop him or go look for him? My guess is that it was not a big deal because no one had ever cried like a girl over PSI in a ball before. If the NFL, which was aware of the Colts concerns had made everyone aware of situation maybe the refs would have tightened things up a bit. This was such a non issue that the NFL didn't even change protocol.
4th and 5th question:
Ansewred above NFC game went OT. and he may have been under pressure and misspoke, who knows. They interviewed the guy 4 times, I am sure it wasn't fun and quite stressful.
5th question:
It is not uncommon for sports stars to give team employee gifts, this is usually thought of as a nice gesture. For this report to twist it into a bribe/hush money/extortion is ludicrous. The texts are taken out of context and very explainable. Texts are by nature a shorthand way to communicate and often times humorous. The "deflator" quote is from May (i.e. OTA's) they were probably joking around about how much of a perfectionist Brady is and that if the balls were not a certain way (12.5 psi...which is within the legal level) he would freak out.
More in a minute...
