I'm sure the owners (other than Blank) are going to steer far clear of the whole deal, but it'd be great to their collective temperature to see where they side. If this becomes a "civil war" are there any owners that would sympathize with Kraft and his team? Maybe some feel it's more of a witch hunt and that Goodell is exceeding his mandate? I'd think they'd be more pissed about how blatant their bending of the rules has been and how completely unrepentant they're acting.

(Just saw your comment Roland! Exactly where my mind was going!)

Well like all those that consider themeselves in an elite class, in your in till you not, trying to underhandedly one up the rest of your group may be ok if everyone inside knows how its played and the outsiders don't. But turning to those means against your own sets a bad precedent, kind of like the poisen pill. They will turn on you.

They all want the right to raise that Super Bowl Trophy, Kraft and the Patriots along with Belichek and Brady now have created a rift inside as well as outside the Elite and common people circles, they have also alienated the NFL Management and the Players association by calling them all out.

In my mind they are a ship alone at sea now, it's called the Lusitania and is about to get torpedoed.

Food for thought.

NWPatsfan as irritating as he was, was only fanning the fire. If we get another one no matter how irritating, please don't ban them. Idiots like that do more damage than good. They feed the fire and keep the topic alive so more people see the info. Just a thought.

Now as for the Patriots fighting this it's beyond stupid. For them to have any level of success at this point, they must absolutely prove there wasn't tampering They are playing to the court of public opinion and outside of New England no one believes they weren't knowingly cheating. Dancing around the issue and making up unbelievable lies only serves to make them look worse.

Could they win some sort of monetary award? Sure, a reduced fine could happen. Could they get Tom Shady's suspension reduced or even removed? Again sure it's possible but that really seems like the best they can do and if that is all you achieve while in the process of cementing public opinion that your organization is nothing but a bunch of cheaters, then it's not really a victory.

If I were a Patriots fan I would be screaming to the hill tops for them to just shut up and move on. With every word printed on this subject it only gets worse and more ingrained. Make a statement saying you don't agree with it and move on. Don't keep fanning the fire. Ultimately this thing will blow up in your face. The more it is talked about the more chance that something else comes out that hurts your organization even more.

I wasn't aware of the 2004 warning before they started challenging this or that they somehow slipped practice balls onto the playing field against the jets back when both teams were supposed to be using new slick footballs. It seems every day something else comes out that I didn't know cementing even more how much this organization has steeped itself into an organization than may end up being known more for cheating that the success they have had.

I can't even see a bag of Cheetos without thinking that there should be a Patriot logo on it. Hey Mr Kraft maybe Frito Lay will sponsor your organization to make back some of that Million you lost. How would you feel about a picture of Tom Brady on the bag of Cheetos?

They're quickly recouping the million with Brady merchandise doubling in sales since yesterday.

I'm sure every sale is a Pats fan running out to show his solidarity.

I tend to agree. There's no one in here to argue their side now, although it gets to a point where they're just rehashing the same tired points.

As irritating as they can sometimes get, having a Marvin around to tilt against can spark the conversation.

I like what Goodell is doing. He is daring them to take this to court. But they won't. There are too many skeletons in that closet, and once it's in the legal system, almost everything related to equipment becomes discoverable. It would only get worse for them.

For example: Karlos Dansby, Jack Del Rio, Mike Matz and Marvin Lewis have suspected the Patriots of tampering with helmet communications in multiple different games.
Agreed. I would love it if the Cheatriots took this to court. I wonder if they will keep letting their egos override their common sense. If so.........AWESOME!!!!!

Yeah ^

Will they be dumb enough to actually take it to court? At first thought you would think they'd be insane to ever let it get anywhere near a courtroom....buuuuuuuut........

..........pride is a tough thing to put aside, and they have more to be proud of than any other team in the last 15 years. They've gambled everything up till now, risked laying waste to all they've accomplished so far to add more trophies. Will they be able to resist rolling everything on a chance to clear up their legacy decisively? The smart thing to do just might be too much for them to resist.

If they can't, this is gonna be entertaining as all hell to watch!

I remember when deflategate broke they were already under investigation for tampering with FM signals so those other reports do not surprise.

The only area that bothers me really with the FM signals is how well they executed the Int to stop us from taking the lead. I still don't really care that much though because we had a myriad of calls that wouldn't matter if they knew what the play was but for some reason we chose to throw into the teeth of the defense. That is our bad even if they did know it was coming.

I don't get why Patriots fans, or the Team itself is so upset with Goodell being the neutral arbitrator if it is within the rules... I mean it is within the rules...

The Patriots didn't have a problem with ineligible WR and eligible OL issues against the Ravens... Because they were within the rules... Is there a difference in saying that between the two incidents. Or are they only upset because they are on the other end of the rule bend?

You're missing the key point that one of those things helps the Patriots, and the other one hurts the Patriots. Makes ALLLLLLLLL the difference. :)

Lol...

Well at this point I am not going to be able to handle it if Patriots fans get to see Brady play week one thinking justice was done and innocence was proven. I hope they continue to dig a deeper hole, and I hope players, ex players, and other teams continue to let out the complaints of past issues. We know the Patriots have been caught at least twice now... We also know they have cheated before, or stretched the rules....

Injury report manipulations
Spygate
Deflategate (10 years/ Reports of Ball issues dating back to 2004)
I/legal Plays against Baltimore
Tampering

They have only been caught a couple times. Criminals often get a way with multiple infractions before being caught. Same with the Patriots. They can cheat 100 times and only get caught once and thats the benefit of cheating for them. When they have a history of cheating, lying, deception, I will tend to think of worse of them before better. When I hear allegations of headset issues I can only feel they are most likely guilty because they have a clear culture of cheating.

LOL!!!! :snack:

The excuses and explanations keep getting better
The quote that gets ignore the most, but really sums up the entire Patriots attitude was when Tom, in the midst of all his lying, said "This isn't ISIS." There is literally no reason to minimize it verbally if innocent. It was when I knew for certain he was guilty.

Everyone else does it is a very similar version of This isn't ISIS. What is the big deal?

We have hear from the Patriots the flimsiest of excuses.

Everyone does it.
It didn't really have any effect.
Dude is fat.

Must see TV will be the day, if it ever happens, that Brady's messages to the 2 stooges are released.

I find it interesting that they had the rules changed to make it easier for them to cheat. Then they wonder why they got caught at it. Just wierd.
