Or said player holds a grudge, or as the media cliche goes "plays with a chip on his shoulder". (you notice how thats pretty much anyone apparently)

And that said player goes to the coach and says, "these are the looks we give when we run this play"

Thats what I hate about releasing players the most.

It won't matter.

The fear of a player going to another team and giving away formations and tendencies is one of the most overblown things in all of sports, imo.

It makes me happy to know a team we play later in the year claims a player who isn't good enough to play on our team.

Hog wash. If he needs extra motivation to play his best then he isn't good enough.

And the whole secrets thing is Hog wash as well. Player movement is the norm now days. This doesn't bother Pete enough to not release players. Why does it bother you so much?

Who is the last player that we cut that came back and kicked our ass?

Bradford went to the Giants. That's a good pick up. I was stoked to have him as our backup Mike. There must have been something REALLY bad that happened behind the scene's that we will never know about.

Not every player departure requires some elaborate story explaining the move. There are a limited number of roster spaces and you can't keep everyone. Somethings gotta give. More will come down the pipeline When Irvin and Harvin go back on the active roster. That's two more players that will be gone. It doesn't mean that they punched a coach in the face because the move doesn't make sense to a fan who has seen a player play in 4 preseason games.

When you have to make a decision between two good backups that likely will not be starters here the Hawks decided to keep Harwell because of what he brings to STs. Tough choice. I'm glad the Hawks have reached this point.
