I'd love to see the Beast show up every week and drop a few Mother "F" bombs, "Yo Son's" and "What Sup's." After about 3 weeks they would fine him for doing the pressers!

Exactly, be careful what you ask for.

Hes a really interesting and funny guy, so maybe he will eventually develop a positive relationship with some of the beat writers and actually put out some quotes we all will enjoy reading. A fella can dream I guess...

I still find it ridiculous that the NFL pays these players to play football, yet punishes them for not speaking to the media - which is clearly not something many of them are comfortable with or trained to do.

I doubt it. Marshawn just doesn't give a $@&!, and he doesn't care who knows it.

he's paid by the nfl to play football..not be an spokesperson for them. it's his choice to not to speak to reporters..part of his charm and personality.

Sorry, it does depend upon his contract. If the contract stipulates he must talk to cameras and people too, then he must oblige. And I do believe that if they fined him for it, then the contract must state it.

It's not contractual, it's NFL policy. Policies are something employers can enforce when done legally and don't go into individual contracts because they are meted out equally amongst everyone (supposedly)

As for the $100,000 stipulation, I have a feeling Marshawn or his agent just worked out a deal with the NFL that he'd engage with the media if they didn't fine him and they likely agreed with the extra punishment as a stipulation if he didn't follow through. Seems fair enough since he now seemingly knows what's at stake it's completely up to him to continue talking or pay the fine.

As for those who say he "deserved" it because it's the rules. I'm sure nobody expected it to be such a large number. Seriously....$50k for not talking to the media just seems a bit out of scale with other fines.
