"That to me is surprising to hear, but I believe it at the same time. But I can't think of a position group that is lacking. We have great guys in all positions. We got great safeties and a defensive line. We have outside linebackers and corners. It's hard to imagine a position group in our defense that is lacking. I count on our defense. I trust them to make plays weekend and week out. There is not another group of guys that I would rather go out there and play with."[via, Ian Rapoport]

I've always felt the team needed soke star power to make a good stoey for the NFL to latch onto, but maybe they can ride the "bunch of nobodies" angle... That's more of a feel good story though good for weekday talk radio. It's not TSwift levels of profit for them.

I've often said that stars emerge from good teams. Trying to buy them on the FA market to make your team good is hard, really hard.

No household names, huh?

They should call themselves the "Nobody Home" crew.

'Cause nobody was home today on Defense.

Outside of #1 draft picks, it seems to me like most good well rounded teams don't have household names until after they have prolonged major success, and even then by the time the names become household...the team is already on it's downward trajectory with those names starting to cost more than they are worth and/or being more injury prone.
