Bengals have to draft a new QB right?

Dalton is killing them. They clearly have some good talent around him and he still is holding them back. Not to mention he is eligible for contract talks after this year. Anyone think they'll chase an early QB?

They should, but they won't, and it's a mistake. That organization thinks he's a franchise guy, but anyone with eyes can see he's not. I think they go at least one more, and perhaps two before they cut the cord.

I was at a sports bar Sunday with a well known and respected rabid Bengal fan. I asked him the very same question. His response was an immediate and emphatic yes.

I travel to cincy a couple times of year for work, they're not replacing Dalton. They've made him the face of the franchise and the ownership (which also runs football ops) loves him.

I think its obvious from afar that this is a mistake, but they're stuck with him as a middling/mediocre QB for the next 5 or so years minimum.

I saw on TV where Dilfer and some QB coach fixed up Tebow's throwing mechanics, so there's an option! OTOH, with today's performance I'd say the Dalton looks like he's worth Cutler money...

Like I said in another thread, it is just like the Rams, for some weird reason they think he is good.

No, they will not replace him.

I remember many hawk fans being pissed we did not draft Dalton.

Give them a break we never have seen what an actual 1st tier quarterback does for a team and franchise. Enjoy the fact that JS/PC are just smarter than any fan and likely anybody on. Net.

If he is so terrible why does Cincy have him throwing the ball 51 times. They had the lead till half way threw the third quarter??? Maybe if the rest of his team is so great they should have run the ball. Not have him slinging it all over the field. He is productive and they win games with him.

The Bengals put the ball in his hands way to much, more than any other quarterback this weekend actually. So yeah the easy decision would be to replace the coaching staff, instead of trying to find a productive NFL quarterback.

Dalton is the worst kind of QB to have IMO, in that he's too good to need immediate replacement, but not good enough to really win with unless every other facet of your team is all world. There's a long history of these types of guys, and man, what a crappy position to be in. Heck, the Bears are now giving one of these guys 20 mil per, and one who is already in his 30s no less.

Exactly how I feel.
