Bears are making serious efforts and investments in trying to improve their OL:
  1. Trading for all pro LG Joe Thuney, not a pro bowl. He started SIX games at LT last season when the team needed his help.
  2. Jonah Jackson ain't a star, but his 67.6 PFF grade is streets above our Bradford, Haynes and whatever his name that started for us.
  3. They are trying to steal Dan Skipper (OT) from the Lions,
You know what? Celah is feeling loved at this moment, his team ain't wasting no time to help him.

Well, toffee, we all knew Ben Johnson, was definitely planning to improve their offense and if Johnson has control, the offensive line, was definitely step 1.

Good for Ben Johnson and definitely good for the Bears.

The Bears have a lot of potential under Ben Johnson. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are a top 10 offensive team sooner than later.

In 2024 the Bears O line wasn’t really that bad it was mid ( about 15th in the NFL) they had high sack numbers due to having a QB that holds the ball too long. I am wondering how frustrated Johnson might get with Williams to run his offense which is about getting the ball out quickly to the playmakers

The joy of having a poor man's Russell Wilson as QB??

Can't believe John let Dalman get away.

You have the cash. You have to build a line. WTF are you doing?

I will tell you what is happening...the Bears are scary all of sudden on offense.

Bears are a very talented team but they needed to fix OL and they went all out. And there is still the draft...

JS needs to wake up and start to show that he means business to fix the trenches...

Haven’t we learned anything about Schneider??

He’s not throwing money at offensive line.

Definitely not throwing money since he just freed up some space by moving on from some players and now definitely don’t want to pay more since he’s paying Darnold.

The draft will be most of the offensive line work unless Schneider can get 2 pieces (will not be the best free agents) in a few more days….

JS has to evolve as a GM because the rest of the NFC is fortifying their trenches. He has to try to change.

I mean, I agree with you, that SHOULD be the plan BUT I don’t know if he has it in him.

In every interview he’s done, he speaks that offensive line is an overrated position that he doesn’t seem to place a great emphasis on improving. The man has literally gone on everything and has continued to preach that offensive lineman are overpaid.

I don’t think the man is likely to change his stance on it even if it could very well be the end of him if he does not.

Crazy, huh.

Just very stubborn but he sticks to his guns and his approach. He has conviction. Which is not a good thing in this case but it’s a thing….for him. And he’ll stand by it to the very end…..

Dalman misses a fair amount of games. I would also be a bit wary of giving him a big bag.
Fair assessment but I'm being totally irrational due to our decade of line issues and Darnold being prone to seeing ghosts.

I see the Bears making Oline moves. I see Washington just signed a pro bowl left tackle. And I see our line looking like decade-long shit show.

Please John do something.

I'm hoping for Will Fries. Great scheme fit. Would also like Ryan Kelly. Ryan misses time too but should be a little cheaper, plus he and Fries have already played together (both Colts).

Dalman also was offered more by other teams and he turned it down. It was not reported who those teams were but Dalman wanted to be in Chicago for whatever reason.

I'm actually pretty envious of the Bears right now.

The Bears.

Imagine actually acknowledging that your OL is a big problem and then doing everything in your power to fix it. Wow. What a concept. I'd be ecstatic if I was a Bears fan right about now.

The Bears have the weapons on offense so new HC Ben Johnson knows he has to build a dominant OL.

The Bears are having a real meat and potatoes kind of free agency. Really beefing up the trenches on both sides.
