So are they better as a 3-3-5?

And have to give a couple 1st round picks? No thx.

He's in the last year of his contract and has made it crystal clear that he wants out of Chicago.

So I don't think you'd have to give up even one 1st for him. If so? I agree, no thanks. But if he can be had for a 2nd, or 3rd and 4th?

Smith is a top 10 NFL defensive player, and I wouldn't hesitate giving him an extension.

So you are willing to give a draft pick for a 1 year rental player.

Are you assuming that the Seahawks are going to be in the playoffs ?

Just because he was a top 10 NFL Defensive player, doesn't mean anything. Look at Jamal Adams, Earl Thomas.

I wouldn't trade for Smith unless we've pre-agreed to an extension.

So no, no draft picks are worth a half year rental player.

And no, Adams isn't a good comparison, because no way in hell I'm giving up two 1sts for Smith. That's why I said a 2nd, or 3rd and 4th AND an extension.

But thanks for twisting every single one of my points to make this into something I never said. Excellent work.

Only took the coaches a full off season and 5 games to figure it out

You said he's a top 10 NFL Defensive player. He could be a top 10 NFL Defensive player for the bears, but he won't be for the Seahawks.

Example: Jamal Adams was a top 10 NFL Defensive player in the Jets. In the Seahawks he's a bag of trash.

"we've pre-agreed to an extension." Isn't that tampering.

In this case, Roquan Smith came up in the system that the Seahawks are trying to implement here in Seattle. His old coordinator is also on our staff right now.

Though, right now it seems that we're shifting away from that system because we don't have the proper players to run a 3-4 front.

Any other examples outside of Adams?

You seem to indicate a trend.....

On the flip side, there's Geno.....

Geno was a free agent and has been with the Hawks for two years prior to starting. I hardly think that is a good example. He had familiarity with the system and players. We didn't trade for him.

Just referring to a player who struggled elsewhere and came here to find success

He seems to be indicating that generically, all successful players come to the wasteland of Seattle and wither...

Just providing an opposite example
