Is it just me or did you want to punch the TV with that jackass has-been jawing away on the TV during the game? Holy crap he's terrible. God how I wish Raibs and Moon were the announcers during our games. Some of these announcers and color guys are...UGH.

What you're seeing is the constant need to fill the silence. Let the play determine the broadcast, not the commentators. I look at it like baseball where nothing happens for so long they need to fill the inaction with stats and other non-essentials things.

It's almost as-if they would rather talk over the action rather than just allow people to watch it.

Then again, not everyone is a fanatic and understands what's going on.

Definitely talks too much, but there are worse out there. I suppose one positive is he focused a bit more on defensive play than some of the others.

I thought he was kinda bias towards the Seahawks. Maybe that is due to him being a former Bucs but I kinda had a vibe that he didn't want to credit Atlanta as much as he did us. Unless you were deaf let's not pretend he didn't say a lot more positive things for us compared to the Falcons.

Talks too much, doesn't speak with a good rhythm, and says stupid things like "the extra point is the most important point in all of football".

Barber doesn't have much personality, but his insight was good.

He explained well a couple of the Hawk's defensive breakdowns, including pretty much blaming Sherman for the blown coverage on Jone's TD.........which others today have done the same.

But overall? Barber's too milk toast for me to get fired up one way or the other.

Well given that they're 33 yards and not gimmies anymore that blocked one yesterday could have easily cost us the game.
And yes, ATL fans were furious with Ronde. I'm sure being an ex-Buc had everything to do with it.
Him commenting more on D is no surprise.

Exactly. He's just not polarizing enough to get pissed about.

That and he was a CB, I imagine he has an affinity for teams with a LOB type cast.

My TV remote has a cool button labeled, "Football".

Once pushed, all I hear is the crowd noise.

I have not listened to a commentator in 3 seasons!

Buck & Aikman are the most annoying...Also Sims.

I didn't notice Barber until the end of play & kept harping on the DPI that was not called. Other then that, i was just pissed off at Michaels to really notice what was being talked about.

It's funny you should say this. I was thinking that while the broadcast team wasn't stellar, at least they weren't blatant
"whomever the Seahawks happen to be playing" fans like Aikman and Michaels.

He seemed to try too hard to keep it interesting when he didn't have to. But I'd personally not mind him doing another
Seattle game.

I would LOVE to be able to have Raible and Moon as our broadcast team.

I thought he was fine.

Never really understand fan-hate of broadcasters. If you're saying you wish Raible and Moon were on the call instead what you're really just saying is you want a really biased Seahawks slant. And that's never ever going to happen on a national broadcast.

He was buttering up the Seahawks until they went into self-emolation mode, then he started singing the praise of the Falcons. Most of the national crews are just tolerable, since they are usually not well versed in back-stories on the team. I am sure we will have a great time when Brian Billick does the Saints game for our consumption.

The only time I would say I hated the broadcast crew was when Mike Martz did the Seahawks vs Rams a few years ago. That was brutal.

I remember that game. He was pretty bad. Like the breakfast menu for Elwood Blues; dry white toast. Mrs. Doubtfire in the broadcast booth was thankfully a short-lived experiment.

Maybe if the did the game AS Mrs. Doubtfire, that would've been more interesting. "It's a Seahawks touchdown dearies!"

I didn't mind Barber - he reminded me a bit of Blowers calling the Mariners games in that he had some good insight but overall his personality couldn't have been more bland.
