I'm already sick of the butterflies. The prospect of the season ending on Sunday just sickens me. I don't think I could handle a first weekend loss. Loss in the divisional round to the Falcons? Not great, but ish happens. First round loss to a team we should handle in all phases? My stomach hurts.

The problem is, that I know for sure that if we win, we'll presume this as well when we play the Falcons. Beating the Redskins, a team that we have yet to play, and has gotten just as much hype as us, would propel us into believing that we should beat the Falcons. And then beating the Falcons will make us believe that winning the NFCCG is a guarantee.

There is, basically not one, game that is an easy let down if we lose from here on out. I believe we can win the super bowl. But im not naive to prepare for not. These next few weeks are going to be stressful regardless. I dont want a loss right now.

This game is more to me than just moving on towards the Superbowl. We have not won a road playoff game... blah blah. I'm so sick of hearing and saying it. This is, bar none, the best Seahawks team I've ever seen, so this needs to be it. We HAVE to win this game!

Don't get me wrong, here. A second weekend loss would hurt. But, for me, it would hurt less than a first weekend exit. However, I should have specified in my previous post that if we get to the NFCCG, the potential pain would vault way, way, way up for me. So it'd be like a 9, 7, 10, 12 in terms of agony. (This is only because I don't hate the Falcons like the other teams, and they're the other NFC team I could stomach in the Super Bowl, provided their win over us was clean. Though I admit that I wouldn't hate seeing the Vikings in the Super Bowl, just to see what kinds of awful things ADP would do to an opposing defense in the big game this year. Having Ponder in the Super Bowl before Wilson would, however, be a terrible irony.)

Ditto from me... my wife was thinking I was having an affair after using my phone and iPad all the time checking news. I'm thinking about this game more than sex, and she thinks I'm withdrawn. I've explained, but she doesn't get it (she's Canadian and never grew up with the football hype)... 32 more days until the Super Bowl and I hope to continue this wild ride the whole trip. Funny thing too, I just moved back to Seattle area 6 weeks ago. We've been on a roll... Last time I lived here was 2005 and I moved shortly after XL... I might be a good luck charm!

As Holmgren used to say around February, "This time of year, the fans of 31 teams are disappointed."

There is no good ending to a season, no matter how great or lowly your team has performed.
