You have to look around the league and see if teams have better or contracts they have to honor, gamble yes but teams all over are trading and juggling right now, but Brown didn't get picked up either. Hard to predict really what teams will do until what after the first week when Vets can be resigned and not guaranteed I think.

Austin's release is disappointing. They may have been holding out in hopes of trading him to an advantageous opportunity.

It probably came down to a numbers and speed and change of direction decision. I think he is a trustworthy 2 down linebacker and special teams asset. Surely someone will seize the opportunity to sign and play him.

He was certainly featured during the Seahawks pre-season so there is plenty of film. Who knows? Perhaps he'll suit up for the Bengals this Sunday. The Bengals have only four linebackers.
