Not complaining about this but are you surprised that Kearse has been pretty much non existent in the passing game coming off a great pre-season? I though he would have gotten more playing time based on his performance. Williams to some extent too.

Not suprised. He had the one catch yesterday and looked like he twisted or sprained his ankle after the play.

Everything is pretty preliminary until today's presser.

Not really. This passing corps is all about Rice, Tate, and Baldwin. Harvin will be a wonderful bonus when he returns, and the TEs contributing will be good, too. But those three are the keys and anything Kearse and Williams give us on top of it is just a nice extra.

I think you have to set proper expectations for Kearse. He has a significant role on Special Teams and is also in the rotation for WR's. When you're 4th on the depth chart, you won't get that much time as a WR... Rice, Tate, Baldwin are clearly higher priorities at that position.

3-0 is really what matters. Nice thing about this team is the depth. I truly believe if any of them complain too much about touches, playing time etc. they'll be benched or sent packing, w/out hesitation.

Still early in the season and the Offense is starting to click. Hopefully Kearse's ankle is good and we can sit back and enjoy the ride as the offense continues to improve each week. :)

Kearse is 4th in the rotation right now. He doesnt see that many snaps. No Im not surprised. I would be even more surprised if he was getting more snaps then Rice, Tate, and Baldwin.

This. With Tate, Rice, Baldwin, Miller, then Willson and then Kearse....I'm not sure how much you want us to pass it, but there isn't a lot of touches for the 4th and 5th guys. Look at Williams, he tore it up in the PS, and now he's not even getting on the field. Typical. We'll see this guys when someone gets hurt.

When Harvin comes back, it's going to be worse. We might not see Baldwin all that much either.

If your offense hasn't been clicking how you like, the way to get it going isn't to worry about how your 4th/5th string receiver is doing.

Rice, Tate, Baldwin are above him on the depth chart, concern should be getting them going, not Kearse. when Harvin comes back he sinks even lower.

It is what it is, I always like it when home-town college guys can stick with the pro team so I root for him and I'm glad he's still on the team.

Pretty much this. I like rooting for him, and he is good. But he is not a priority to be on the field. Were already a run-heavy team, so WR touches are going to pale in comparison to most teams. And thats ok, because thats our gameplan and wouldnt you know, it seems to be working.

I think Thurmond and Lane are next on the chart.

don't get too excited about Kearse- if you followed him at all in college, you would also be amzaed he has made ANY nfl squad. He has dropped more balls in his career than he EVER caught- and no matter what the "story" is now about him- that horse is not going to change it's color.

You obviously missed out on Kearse's SUMMER OF LASIK. Boy got his eyes right and has caught everything in his path since.

To OP's question, no, not surprised. Rice and Tate are the starters. Baldwin is the #1 option in the slot. Kearse came up with a huge catch in the Carolina game. We didn't pass much against SF and then he got hurt on his first play against JAX.

He was in a boot after the game but from what I saw he was walking around on the sidelines without much of a limp. Just speculation on my part but it didn't seem all that serious.

Kearse has been terrific. Just a lack of opportunity. Good problem to have.
